From 204 activities · Mar 2026Eclipse is widely characterized as a failed Layer 2 project that betrayed its community through unfair token distribution, broken promises, and poor execution. Early supporters—including NFT holders and active testnet participants—report feeling scammed after the TGE resulted in token price collapse, inadequate airdrops, and mass layoffs. The team faced criticism for toxic leadership, dismissive treatment of community members (labeling them as farmers and sybils), and a shift from long-term vision to short-term value extraction. The chain remains largely abandoned with minimal TVL and user activity, while leadership controversies—including allegations against founder Neel Somani—further eroded trust.

Alucard is the perfect example of a person you don't running any show on behalf of your company. He was very unfair with anyone he didn't agree with. Blocked people all the time just to punish them and stop them from getting the eclipse airdrop. Eclipse had so much time to replace him. They chose to keep him instead.

Eclipse became a family to me. Every morning when I wake up, Eclipse is the first thing on my mind. It’s truly a flawless project. An incredible team, full of brilliant minds. The technology is top tier. If I could go back in time, I would have joined Eclipse from day one. But since I can’t go back, I’ll plan for the future And I’ll stay with Eclipse until the end.

Some folks were happy with it because it helped actually to get people involved and excited about using the token. But others were worried it wasn’t totally fair, some feel like the way tokens were handed out didn’t favor everyone equally. This kind of thing is pretty normal when new tokens launch. At first, prices can jump around a lot, and not everyone agrees on who should get.

Sadly, I wasn’t eligible. Projects should remember even the small contributors; they’re part of the ecosystem too.

Mia nub · 1297· 1y ago · negative7“Solana Speed Meets Ethereum Trust”Eclipse is one of the most impressive Layer-2s I’ve come across—blending the speed of Solana’s virtual machine with the security and liquidity of Ethereum. I first heard about Eclipse from the Ethos community, and the idea of running Solana-level performance on an Ethereum-secured network immediately caught my attention. The experience is smooth, fast, and insanely scalable—perfect for high-frequency DeFi and gaming apps. What makes Eclipse special is its modular design: execution with Solana VM, data availability via Celestia, and fraud proofs through RISC Zero. That kind of architecture is rare—and powerful. It feels like the future of Layer-2 innovation. If you're building or trading in Web3 and want the best of both worlds, Eclipse is where speed meets real trust.
