Today, Opensea is running a never-ending airdrop campaign that exploits the community. I think the launch will likely be mediocre in terms of valuation, which could be better with an early launch in 2025. I also think that going public would be the ideal time for venture capital firms to cut their losses and abandon the project. In the current climate, I don't see how the team could turn things around. In my opinion, the best course of action would be to dissolve the project.

“BTCFi Is a Bull-Run Narrative — And BOB Hasn’t Escaped That Trap”Build on BOB is built almost entirely around the BTCFi narrative. The issue is simple: BTCFi is still a bull-market narrative, not a sector with proven, durable fundamentals. Today, Bitcoin DeFi activity is highly correlated with BTC price action. When BTC rallies, interest spikes. When BTC goes sideways or down, usage, liquidity, and attention fade quickly. There are still very few organic, sticky use cases that generate sustained demand independent of market cycles. At the same time, BOB operates in an extremely crowded landscape: multiple L2s and rollups competing to “unlock” BTC liquidity, bridges, wrappers, and restaking-based BTCFi designs, more mature or better-integrated competitors targeting the same narrative. Despite strong backing (CB Ventures, Castle Island Ventures, Ledger), BOB struggles to clearly differentiate itself: the value proposition is not obvious for builders or users, the “hybrid ZK rollup” story sounds compelling on paper but lacks visible, practical advantages today, there is no clear reason to choose BOB over competing BTCFi stacks. In short, BOB faces a double challenge: a fragile, cycle-dependent narrative and intense competition.
