“Kalshi: when real money is on the line you think different”out of all the prediction markets I’ve looked at, Kalshi is probably the most grown up one Polymarket is more popular in the crypto crowd and often has bigger volume, but it’s still kind of a grey zone from a regulatory standpoint Kalshi went through a real fight with the CFTC - years in court just to get the right to operate - and they actually won that means something personally I like the idea prediction markets have historically been more accurate than polls and so called experts when you put real money on the line you think differently the only issue is liquidity on many Kalshi markets is still kinda meh, and spreads can be uncomfortable but as a concept it’s one of the few genuinely interesting financial ideas of the last few years

“An Innovative but Risky Platform”I’ve been looking into Kalshi, and I think it’s quite an interesting platform. Unlike traditional betting sites, it works on a prediction market model where you can invest in outcomes like whether interest rates will go up or how an election will turn out. The fact that it’s regulated in the U.S. adds some credibility, and it’s not limited to politics since there are contracts in economics, weather, and even cultural events. Since people are putting real money on the line, the predictions often end up being more reliable than polls. On the other hand, there are definitely risks. The platform is in constant tension with regulators, some contracts can be ethically controversial, not every contract has enough liquidity which makes trading harder, and big players might manipulate the market. It’s also currently U.S.-focused, so access from places like Turkey is difficult. Overall, I’d say it’s a very innovative idea, but it comes with high risks.
