This is a game made and cared for by an amazing and dedicated team. A team that wants to create a fun and addictive experience forboth old and new fans of the Heroes of Might and Magic universe. It has ties to previous games but also tries to provide new mechanics and an varied pool of cards within four factions. Many have already connected the first impressions of the game with the familiar feel of "Duel of champions". And the game could rightfully rise to take its place along with DOC if the cards are played right I want to express that even at these early test releases; the team at Paris HQ has shown a level of dedication to mechanics and details that could be argumented as rare from TCG's these days. I have admitted on several occasions that I find the card teasers on X absolutely stunning - and Im not alone. The responsible artists really put their soul in these cards and I’m proud to be able to tag along on this journey. The four factions provide iconic cards portraying everything from stunning angels to brutal demons -spiced with explosive spell effects and strategic artifacts on par with what we would expect from premium physical TCG's. Each faction has its own identity and strategies based on card mechanics. In the early phases many favoured Necropolis and Haven for their strategies of gameplay. During the closed beta Inferno showed the raw power at their disposal. Card strategy matters. Planning ahead is key. Gold is king. Synergies give you the edge. Leveling your hero is imperative for the end game. So far, we have seen a range of limited reveals of the cards in the founders’ packages and in basic starter sets from the closed beta. With this we are starting to see a promising depth to what we might get in the final game. We have applied our strategies on hero leveling, gold balancing, tactical flyers, tanks, support, artifacts and familiar HMM spellscrafting -all forged to something that offers a wide set of strategies where we also might see use in mixing of cards from different factions. Even though not yet officially released, we have been generously provided with third party sites for deck building. This, in combination with in-game tutorials, will allow new players to experiment and veterans can tap in on the inherent freedom to do some experimental cooking xD The discord is already full of engaging community members providing feedback and openly discussing strategies. The meta potential is huge. The cards are still undergoing balancing after the closed beta. And it goes to show that the team has a philosophy to provide the best possible build before allowing us players to experience the magic to the fullest. The game and team do not give any impression of rushing things, and they are carefully listening to the feedback from the awesome community. We are in on a joint venture to build something magical meant to last. In summary: excited, a tad impressed and impatiently ready for launch! The community is already locked in grinding the open beta providing feedback aiming to highlight the crucial aspects of ladder systems, draft modes, faction depth/solo campaigns and progression economy. Much is still left for speculations, but we will know more soon.
