From 2 activities · May 2026Pudgy World draws comparisons to nostalgic web3 games like Club Penguin and Habbo, with smooth onboarding and engaging quest mechanics. Early enthusiasm has been tempered by concerns over monetization, particularly the introduction of paid passes and XP doubling packs that some view as pay-to-win elements.

The introductory quests provided a smooth onboarding process, making it easy to understand the game mechanics and explore the lore. Following the intro, the game introduced daily and one-time quests to keep things moving. However, my perspective shifted when the developers introduced a paid pass and XP doubling packs. This felt like a "red flag" for many players, as it clearly pushes the game toward a Pay-to-Win (P2W) structure. Those who don’t invest in these boosters naturally fall behind on the leaderboard. While the community is largely holding out for a potential airdrop, right now it feels more like the developers are focusing on monetizing the player base. Additionally, since the game is tied to a famous NFT collection, it’s hard not to feel that its primary purpose is to regain market attention and boost the collection’s value. The lack of fresh content is also noticeable. Since the pass and the last set of quests were added months ago, there haven't been any significant updates. The gameplay has become quite repetitive, mostly just logging in for daily claims and routine tasks. On a positive note, the technical execution is impressive. The game world is diverse, and the locations are well-designed and visually polished. At this stage, my rating remains neutral. The world itself has a lot of potential, but my future outlook will depend entirely on the direction the developers choose to take, whether they prioritize meaningful gameplay updates or continue focusing on monetization.
