Received · 3Given · 0“One of the most talked about figures in crypto and more”I think a short summary of the crucial events that took place over the last two decades is enough to understand my positive review: Ross Ulbricht created Silk Road, one of crypto's first true commercial applicatives. The platform allowed users to exchange basically anything P2P, with no centralized entity intervening. Ross served 11 years in a maximum security prison, and he's served his time by any imaginable standard, simply because he's created a sight that did nothing butbring out human nature and its different, at times ugly, shades. We've seen a similar debate go down recently with Pavel Durov's temporary arrest. I remain of the belief that while Ross is no saint, as he's bounds smarter than most and knew perfectly well what people would use Silk road for, he did nothing but give people, good and bad (so basically people full stop) a shot at evading government surveillance. And I find his sentence to be ridiculous: longer than those served by most sex criminals, in harsher conditions than any of them, while politicians who lied to their congress and are responsible for war crimes and/or genocide, are receiving medals. GG!

The idea envisioned a free market based on the BTC economy, anonymous and censorship-free. Many people today, including myself, believe that he made a significant contribution to Bitcoin's early recognition. Unfortunately, the platform gained a dark reputation because it became used for drug trafficking and became known as a drug marketplace. Ross received two life sentences, and recently was released under a pardon from President Trump. The crypto community supported him and created various campaigns on social media such as [#FreeRoss](https://x.com/search?q=%23FreeRoss&src=typeahead_click), as was commonly done with Roger Ver, the developers of Tornado Cash, and Wasabi. Trump: "" I just called the mother of Ross William Ulbricht to let her know that in honor of her and the Libertarian Movement… it was my pleasure to have just signed a full and unconditional pardon of her son, Ross.» "" Despite the dark reputation of his marketplace, he has a positive reputation as a good and kind guy.

ZET · 1537· 6mo ago7“the actuator of THE DREAM”have personal affection for Ross. lemme start by saying that i don’t know what is the average knowledge about Ross but i believe everyone is wrong about him. i honestly was worshipping Ross cause he has been my idol since i was in high school, since the first time i got to know in 2013 i was shocked to realise HE was behind silkroad, its been insta love for me. I believed and still nowadays that he was a revolutionary cause what he did with silkroad its simply HISTORY, good or bad i don’t actually care, fact is he has been arrested and he paid for whatsoever “crime” he didn’t done 😂😂😂 and that’s hilarious cause they give him 2 life sentences for creating and organising a prehistoric web3 marketplace just like what we see now with opensea. Ross standed for economic liberalism which WE people in crypto, WE ALL STAND FOR. turn out that the most sold product in silkroad were books. so yeah Ross is my fratm ingiustamente incarcerat as i like to say in italian and im so happy he got out! he is still my idol. whatever you wanna say about him i believe we should step back and just LEARN from him
