Smokey is the Chief Smokey Officer and co-founder of Berachain, known for consistent community engagement, transparent communication about ecosystem growth, and active presence during both the project's early success and subsequent challenges. Early testers received substantial rewards and airdrops, though the chain has struggled with token price and TVL decline post-launch. While widely praised for personality, accessibility, and fostering builder culture on Berachain, some view the project as an unsuccessful extraction despite the $100M raise at $1.5B valuation.

“Berachain Airdrop Backlash: My Take”I was hyped for Berachain’s airdrop, the months of testnet grinding, chasing that $BGT promise. But when it dropped in early 2025, I got $0 while influencers flaunted thousands. The X community erupted, calling it a “VC grift” and a slap to loyal users. SmokeyTheBera didn’t duck the heat tho; he jumped on X, saying, “Airdrops are messy, raffle system wasn’t perfect, but vaults are still live for everyone to earn.” It felt like a half-apology, half-deflection.fAder · 1270· 1y ago · negative10
