Smokey is the Chief Smokey Officer and co-founder of Berachain, known for consistent community engagement, transparent communication about ecosystem growth, and active presence during both the project's early success and subsequent challenges. Early testers received substantial rewards and airdrops, though the chain has struggled with token price and TVL decline post-launch. While widely praised for personality, accessibility, and fostering builder culture on Berachain, some view the project as an unsuccessful extraction despite the $100M raise at $1.5B valuation.

“the leader who built a cult”Berachain might look like another meme project with funny bears but that's only scratching the surface. i think Smokey is one of the sharpest minds in DeFi was hiding behind that playful exterior. in he is not just copying ideas he's building an entirely new meticulously thought-out model. he's building serious infrastructure wrapped in an unforgettable brand, and it's a powerful combination

“Bera King”Smokey is the smartest guy in the blockchain. Tru OG, that was able to build something new and special, not only from a tech perspective, but also from a community side. Berachain is a unique phenomenon, and I am happy to join it early. While some people spread FUD about Berachain, Smokey is always calm, and keep building. I expect to see some huge movements on Bera soon!

“Shmonkey Gud”he’s everything to many when it comes to Bera. one of the main creators of the Bera cult and one of the guys keeping it alive. insanely good at handling FUD and taking criticism. known for staying calm and constructive even with the harshest and most unfair critics. it’s been seen more than once that he’s brought Bera haters over to the other side with a single mention.

“Bera boss”As a leader, he is trying to develop the network, but its indicators indicate that no one needs this network yet: - TVL: $347.3M today; peaked around $3.26B in Feb 2025 - Users: monthly active users fell from ~2.2M at launch highs to ~330K - DEX volume $28.6M past 24h; ~$500M over 30d - Fees & revenue: chain fees ~$849 past 24h; app fees ~$114K and app revenue ~$32.7K past 24h I hope he will find the key to return Berachain to top, in order to increase competition in the market.

“The Voice of the BeraChain Community”When Smokey posted about the $BERA staking incentives in April 2024, I jumped in immediately. Those threads explaining liquidity flows between Beradrome and HoneyCast pools were clearer than most whitepapers

“Friendliness, motivation and a fresh perspective”For me, the Smokey the Bera channel is not only a quick access to the latest and most useful news from Berachain, but also an opportunity to recharge with a good mood. It is bright, cool and very friendly

“Quietly Powerful & friendly”You listen when Smokey speaks because he delivers the unvarnished truth. He's a man of action experimenting, failing, and succeeding and he shares the raw reality of his journey. There are no highlight reels here; you receive the complete narrative, warts and all. Smokeyl doesn't merely theorize; he immerses himself in the intricate work of bringing ideas to fruition. While others might leverage their knowledge for prestige, Smokey presents his insights as a genuine invitation: "Come in, see for yourself." His defining trait is his willingness to challenge your assumptions, not to prove you wrong, but to sharpen your intellect. This rare and authentic method ensures his perspective remains consistently valuable.
