From 384 activities · Apr 2026Somnia is a high-performance Layer 1 EVM-compatible blockchain delivering 1M TPS, sub-second finality, and sub-cent fees, purpose-built for gaming, metaverses, and real-time applications. The project earned strong community trust through a fair airdrop distribution to testnet participants and consistent post-launch engagement, with many users praising the fast, low-cost experience and polished games like Sparkball and Chunk. While some note early technical issues, occasional app instability, and concerns about long-term utility amid competing L1s, the team's transparency, active development, and community-first approach have cultivated lasting loyalty—many participants remained engaged after token launch rather than departing, a rarity in the space.

It still feels early, but in a promising way like if you pay attention now, you might see where it heads next, not just react to what it already did.

💫Wireless💫 · 1226· 9mo ago · neutral7“Somnia: High-Performance EVM Built for Mass Onchain Adoption”Somnia presents a bold vision as a high-TPS, EVM-compatible blockchain aimed at fully onchain consumer apps, gaming, and metaverse use cases. Its testnet showcases impressive speed, low fees, and strong participation. While tokenomics and onboarding still need clarity, the tech, backing, and relevance make Somnia a project worth watching closely.

Arrakib · 1288· 1y ago7“Somnia Project: Low-Budget L2 with Broken Promises”I had high hopes for the Somnia project, but it has been nothing but a disappointment. The testnet is extremely laggy, full of bugs, and doesn’t provide a smooth experience at all. Features that are supposed to work, like the faucet, are often broken or unreliable. On top of that, the whole system feels like a low-budget L2 solution rather than a serious project. The team talks big, but the execution is weak and inconsistent. Communication is poor, updates are unclear, and it’s hard to trust anything they promise.

Володимир Вагилевич (Ø,G) π² · 1432· 1y ago · negative10“Over-Promising of Somnia”In the past, a number of projects (like EOS, Solana in its early stages, or different new L1s) promised impressive TPS numbers but frequently sacrificed decentralization or had network disruptions when actual demand arrived. Millions of TPS in a really decentralized network, as opposed to merely in a controlled testnet setting, is questioned by some.

“It's a scam”

0xCryptoCoder base.eth · 1307· 1y ago · negative6“I'm stepping away from Somnia from now on.”Somnia’s testnet process is built around an algorithm first, user last mentality. If you miss a single one-click daily task, all the effort you’ve put in over previous days becomes meaningless. No matter how active or committed you’ve been, one small slip wipes out your entire progress. This approach shows a serious lack of respect for user effort and a clear disconnect from building any real community trust. For me, this is a red line. When a single mistake can erase all the time and work I’ve invested, it becomes impossible to place any trust in the project.
