“Where digital identity becomes infrastructure.”Somnia is building for the social layer most blockchains ignore. Not DeFi. Not L2s. But scalable, persistent identities and interactions. 1M+ TPS, living avatars, composable worlds. The stack is ambitious but deeply aligned with how we actually live online. Feels less like a metaverse play, more like the backend of our future digital self. Underrated, and probably not for long.

“Another L2 With Hype, No Real Purpose”I’ve been watching Somnia and honestly, it feels overrated. It’s pitched as another Ethereum L2, but beyond the marketing and Katio campaign, I don’t see it doing anything that isn’t already being done better elsewhere. There’ve been token and NFT launches, but the chain itself feels empty. There’s just not enough liquidity or activity to make it useful. You can’t build a great product on promises alone. If you’ve spent time on-chain, you’ll know how frustrating it is to bridge in and out and swap for the $Soph token for gas payment. Feels like another L2 launch with no edge.

“İnovative project”I actively participated in the Somina project. It was a fun process. When the airdrop was announced, they increased the amount without any objection when we users didn't like it, and they made the payments. Their system is also useful.
