Conducts on-chain investigations into price manipulation, undisclosed promotions, and wallet attribution in crypto, with a track record of identifying pump-and-dump schemes and sybil attacks. However, reviewers consistently flag rushed analysis, jumping to conclusions without sufficient evidence, and a pattern of making unconfirmed accusations that damage reputations—concerns about responsibility and fact-checking that undermine credibility despite apparent good intentions.

“Investigations Need Responsibility”I saw a post from Specter yesterday where he shared a long list of wallets with several names attached to them. In one of the cases he even wrote “not confirmed.” I believe he may be doing these investigations with good intentions, but I have spent most of my life around the news industry, and one thing journalism teaches you very clearly is that when you put information out publicly, your credibility is completely on the line. If the information turns out to be wrong, the responsibility is entirely yours. Even though the media landscape has deteriorated in many ways, I have always tried to stand by those ethics. That is why the way this was presented concerns me. Writing “not confirmed” and then, in the comments, acknowledging that you may not have verified everything properly while still arguing with people who questioned it suggests the homework was not done thoroughly. More importantly, tagging Nikita alongside a list of wallets and names could potentially put several accounts at risk. What if some of those wallets marked “not confirmed” ended up getting suspended? What if someone who is not actually involved faced reputational damage because of it? If the intention is to do investigative work in the space, similar to what ZachXBT does, that is completely fine and even valuable. But investigative work comes with responsibility. The basics matter: verification, evidence, and clarity before publishing names publicly. Without that discipline, the consequences can fall on people who may have nothing to do with the matter.spoiler · 1514· 8mo ago · negative30
