From 44 activities · Apr 2026Starknet is a ZK-rollup with solid technology—STARK proofs, Cairo language, low fees, and account abstraction—but faces severe community backlash centered on its airdrop distribution. The snapshot criteria excluded active users who lacked ETH balance despite using the network, and dismissive team communication (notably calling community members "e-beggars") fractured trust. Post-TGE, the token price collapsed dramatically, user activity dried up, and the project is widely perceived as having prioritized insiders over genuine supporters, leaving it labeled a "ghost chain" despite its technical merit.
What people say
Received · 430Given · 0“Disappointing in many ways”From a project that aspires to be one of the leading scaling solutions on Ethereum, one would expect clear, transparent, and consistent communication. Unfortunately, @Starknet's X profile leaves much to be desired. Confusing communication: Posts are often cryptic or overly technical, with no real effort to make concepts accessible even to less experienced users. There is a lack of well-structured information threads or clear updates on the network's status. Poor community engagement: Aside from a few retweets and sporadic announcements, community interaction is almost nonexistent. In a decentralized ecosystem, this is a serious problem. Forced marketing: Some posts seem more focused on hyping up than providing real value. The language is often self-congratulatory, but without any concrete data or a clear roadmap. Slow (or nonexistent) responses: Legitimate questions from the community are often ignored. It's not uncommon to see threads with users reporting issues or bugs, but without any public follow-up from the team. Opaque: Lately, there's a lack of detailed updates on controversial developments, such as delays, tokenomics changes, or governance decisions. This undermines investor and developer confidence.

GoldPuppet · 1212· 1y ago · negative10“Bad project, Poor communication from team, bad airdrop execution”My experience with starknet has been disappointing, to say the least. While it’s marketed as a promising Ethereum Layer-2 scaling solution with ZK-Rollup technology, the reality falls short. The network is painfully slow—bridging funds can take hours, and transactions often fail, which is frustrating for users trying to engage with DeFi or other dApps. The user interface feels clunky and unintuitive, making it a hassle to navigate, especially for newcomers. Their airdrop process was a mess, with confusing criteria that left many early adopters feeling cheated, as large allocations seemed to favor insiders over the community. Posts on X highlight a sharp decline in daily active users (down 70% to around 436.6k) and transactions (from 1.1M to 98k), reflecting waning interest. Fees collected also plummeted to just $500 on some days, a far cry from their peak. Add to that accusations of poor communication and unprofessional behavior from the team, like banning users for asking questions, and it’s hard to see Starknet living up to the hype. There are better, more reliable L2 solutions out there.

They are just making bad calls after bad calls. These bad calls started with a live token without transfers to vest VC's and is continuing with the Bitcoin expansion.

The community's expectations were very, very high from them and quite a lot of Multi accounts were farming them. They had to eliminate them too and this was the result. But I think even if they had made a good drop, they would not have been any different from what they are now. Because the market was But they also made some very big mistakes by giving it to TikTok influencers. They gave awards to very stupid people They made a choice and this was the result. In terms of technology, I think it is perfect, but if perfect technology is not useful, no one will use it or people will be offended. This is their problem and I also think they are being treated with racism because they are an Israeli team. I hope he realizes his dreams

osrak.eth · 1303· 1y ago · neutral10“Strong tech, poor community handling”I was genuinely excited about Starknet. The tech is solid, ZK-rollups are the future, and they were positioned as a major player in the L2 space. But the way they handled the airdrop was a huge letdown. Community were called ebeggors and it began a whole new conversation in crypto which demonised airdrop farmers. It showed a disconnect from the community that helped build their momentum. Since then, most of the excitement has faded, and the trust is gone.

Tvist · 1241· 1y ago17“O Airdrops, No community, weak ecosystem”Starknet scam. Very weak ecosystem, more than one project has been scammed. Jediswap, ZKX and many more examples can be given where there is either 0 activity or the project has completely disappeared You may have good technology, but without a community you are nobody! And of course, many loyal supporters received 0 Airdrop, I did too.

Angello · 1423· 1y ago · negative17“Good tech but bad PR”It's no secret that Starknet has good tech and is even one of Vitalik's frequently mentioned projects. Their innovations should lay a solid foundation, especially for Ethereum. However, poor communication with the community has been a negative aspect of Starknet, particularly when one of its founders called the community "e-beggar." This has had a significant impact on Starknet, particularly in terms of user engagement. Despite offering numerous campaigns and rewards after TGE, the chain has failed to attract users.

𝟎𝐡𝐭𝐣𝐢𝐭 · 1446· 1y ago · neutral29“Scam Project and Token”Honestly, I’ve been a bit disappointed with Starknet. Last year I was active on their network, but I ended up just 30 cents short of qualifying for the Airdrop. Their token hasn’t been great either. I bought it at $2, and now it’s around $0.12. Luckily, I sold when it was close to $1, so I only lost about half my investment. Still, compared to some friends who lost way more, I guess it could have been worse.
