From 44 activities · Apr 2026Starknet is a ZK-rollup with solid technology—STARK proofs, Cairo language, low fees, and account abstraction—but faces severe community backlash centered on its airdrop distribution. The snapshot criteria excluded active users who lacked ETH balance despite using the network, and dismissive team communication (notably calling community members "e-beggars") fractured trust. Post-TGE, the token price collapsed dramatically, user activity dried up, and the project is widely perceived as having prioritized insiders over genuine supporters, leaving it labeled a "ghost chain" despite its technical merit.

fleaksead.eth · 1264· 1y ago · negative9“Starknet - great tech, broken trust”Starknet might be one of the most advanced Layer-2s on Ethereum, but the way they handled their airdrop was a mess. Instead of rewarding loyal users, the distribution felt rushed and careless, leaving many in the community feeling ignored. It came across less like supporting contributors and more like wiping their feet on the very people who helped build the ecosystem.

Son Materi · 1227· 1y ago · negative9“Big Scam Project”Starknet is a walking disaster. It does not fulfill any of its key functions: it is not secure, stable and convenient. It is some kind of student project that was posted online in the hope that users themselves will finish it. Downloading and installing this program is a direct threat to the security of your PC and a waste of nerves. Run away from here and do not waste your time.

“Still Not Ready for Prime Time”Tried Starknet lately and it’s honestly pretty frustrating. There have been security issues like the zkLend exploit that cost users millions, and smart contract vulnerabilities still feel risky. The network is hyped for decentralization, but some things are still pretty centralized and recent upgrades caused short outages and volatility. Bridging and cross-chain features sound cool, but they add complexity and new problems, making it hard to trust for serious DeFi. There’s potential, but right now it’s buggy and not worth the risk.

I spent time using the testnet and mainnet without any reward”They called users E begger and blocked some users for calling them out. It was really a bad token distribution in the long run. I personally minted some NFTs on starknet but got no allocation for it.

IFEOLUWA · 1337· 1y ago · negative9“50/50”The project has earned both praise and criticism. One major issue has been the distribution of its tokens. When Starknet launched its STRK token, only about 9 percent went to everyday users. The vast majority was reserved for insiders like the team, investors, and the foundation. Many in the community felt this clashed with the ideals of decentralisation and fairness. Some even argued that the governance is too controlled by a few.

geoveza.eth · 1041· 1y ago6“Starkness”An excellent L2 hampered by a (current) lack of usage compared to other L2s like Arbitrum and Base. The tech is great (STARKs are incredible) and I'm hoping adoption will grow as time goes on and devs (and users) get used to Cairo more.
