“Failed Proof of Liquidity Experiment”Berachain came out with a huge promise – a new L1 running on “Proof of Liquidity” instead of the usual PoS or PoW. In short, validators, LPs and users were all supposed to be aligned, and the tri-token setup (BERA for gas, BGT for governance/rewards, HONEY as stablecoin) sounded clever on paper. The pitch made sense to me. Instead of tokens just sitting locked in staking, PoL was meant to keep them active in DeFi. If it worked, the loop was simple: more liquidity brings more activity, activity creates fees, fees turn into rewards, and that draws in more liquidity again. At the start it looked like it might actually work – they raised $140M, TVL hit around $3.5B. But within two months that number was down 10x. Fees now are tiny, something like a few hundred dollars a day. The main reason seems obvious: incentives were sky-high early on, whales dropped in hundreds of millions just for the APR, and as soon as rewards dropped, so did they. The average user adoption never really showed up. On top of that, the community airdrop left a bad taste. Personally, I found it pretty disappointing and I wasn’t the only one. The hype died quick, and the name “Bearchain” feels sadly accurate now.

Starting from the NFT community, it has evolved into a Layer 1 platform with a Proof of Liquidity concept. Many people feel a strong connection to this project due to its solid and supportive community atmosphere. Some even refer to it as their home, and many believe it will become a key player in the DeFi world. However, there are also those who are beginning to question the direction and real benefits of this project. The distribution of airdrops has been one of the topics drawing criticism. Beyond the narrative and community spirit, there is still a need to prove whether Berachain can have a real impact in the long term. It’s worth keeping an eye on, but it’s best to approach it with a rational mindset.

“One of my best journey of Web3 in memory”Berachain is such a unique brand in which nfts played very important role for user friendlies. I used to belong with them almost one and a half year journey with my eco nfts scenario then resulting in worth investment along with strong commitment. Nowadays, there are many eco projects already exist and many of them still distribute back their airdrops backed from RFA/RFB they got to their royal users. In addition, there are many good eco projects such as Smilee, Infrared, Beraji, Berapaw and others still upcoming of TGE soon.

“Story of a bad founder”The bad airdrop made the community distance itself. Now the team and VCs might stake the $Bera token, convert their rewards and $BGT into Bera and dump it which discourages anyone from holding Bera.
