From 283 activities · Apr 2026ENS (Ethereum Name Service) is a foundational decentralized naming system that transforms long wallet addresses into simple, human-readable .eth names, making crypto transactions safer, easier, and more accessible. Users consistently praise it for eliminating copy-paste errors, enabling seamless integration across wallets and dApps, and providing true ownership of digital identity independent of centralized platforms. While widely recognized as essential Web3 infrastructure with strong community support and a notable airdrop history, some concerns have been raised about pricing decisions and domain renewal fees.

The website’s simple, and getting your own domain is super easy. I’ve had mine for about three years now, but honestly, the name I picked back then doesn’t really vibe with me anymore :) The ENS token made a lot of noise at first, then quieted down for a while , but it still looks like it’s got a solid future ahead. It’s one of those projects that form the backbone of Web3; the longer time passes, the more you realize its value. It’s kind of like a username for the decentralized internet , whether you like it or not, you’re gonna need one.

samimi · 1280· 1y ago17“Owning My ENS, Owning My Web3”Getting my own ENS name was a game-changer,it instantly made Web3 feel simpler and more personal. Replacing those long wallet addresses with a clean .eth name not only felt secure but also made sending crypto and using dApps way easier. What I love most is that it’s truly mine, independent of any big company, and works seamlessly across the ecosystem. Honestly, diving into ENS early was one of my best decisions.

elina · 1169· 1y ago17“The domain the simplifies web3 experience”When ENS domains first came out, I was skeptical. Why would I pay money to get a domain name when I can just use my wallet adress. But over time, I did realize the usefulness of having somehting short and easy to remember. I can send/receive assets much easier once I have a name. ENS also evolved over the years too. Now you can use your domain to connect to different dapps, add to your bio, or used with various eco. Btw, the best time to get or renew your domain is durng the bear market. I bought 10 years of domain when it was dirt cheap.

PhatBear · 1236· 1y ago17“"The Name that Outlives the address"”Wallets change. Chains evolve. Keys get lost. But an ENS name? That’s your on-chain identity carved into Ethereum’s stone. It’s your digital signature in the metaverse — simple, human, unforgettable.

shankarrao2006 · 1236· 1y ago17“A long-standing domain name service on Ethereum. Although it can be said to be on the EVM”I've been using it since 2021. Many people have tried to create alternatives, but Ens remains the primary option. I believe it will continue to be the case. All that remains is to integrate it into browsers, and we'll be able to open .eth domains like regular websites! Given the current situation with the crypto industry, this is a possibility. Ens is convenient because it allows you to remember easy-to-remember domains (logins) instead of long addresses for transferring funds or explaining your wallet. The project is progressing, which is encouraging. X is also active. Interesting that created your blockchain and hub for information about Ens.

Their posts cover major milestones like integrating ENS with PayPal and Venmo, rolling out ENSv2 upgrades, and detailing premium pricing discussions for short ".eth" names. The tone is concise and reader friendly, using present tense to share updates (“ENSv2 supports cross‑chain records”) and past tense to reflect on achievements (“Google officially integrated ENS in October 2024”). Bmonoreto · 1235· 1y ago17“Your on-chain contact list!”ENS plays a crucial role when examining address poisoning from a security perspective. People who just go ahead and copy paste 0x addresses are easily tricked into copying the wrong address. ENS, which resolves the 0x addresses into human-readable addresses that you can choose yourself, fixes one of the sneakiest scam attack vectors we have. Plus, let's you brand yourself on-chain, what's cooler than that?

WiiMee · 1621· 1y ago17“a name without a last name”ens turns long, confusing wallet addresses into simple “eth” names, making web3 far easier to use. It improves the overall experience, reduces mistakes, and helps people interact with blockchain more confidently. Even though it has some drawbacks like renewal fees, privacy concerns, and domain squatting, ens still plays a major role in making decentralized apps feel more accessible. what really stands out is how it bridges complex blockchain tech with everyday usability it’s one of those tools that genuinely strengthens the whole ecosystem.

naserya · 1346· 11mo ago21“long time user”I’ve had an ENS domain for a long time and it’s one of the most useful things I use in Web3. No need to copy long wallet addresses, just share the name and it works. Managing the domain is clear and easy. Over the years it has proven to be reliable, and I keep using it all the time.
