From 570 activities · Apr 2026Farcaster is a decentralized social protocol built on Base and Ethereum that emphasizes portable identity, on-chain ownership, and builder culture. The platform is praised for its clean UX, Frames (interactive posts), integrated wallet, and genuine community focused on real conversations rather than clout-chasing—often described as crypto Twitter done right. However, adoption remains a persistent challenge: monthly active users peaked around 80,000 in mid-2024 but collapsed to under 20,000 by late 2025, with critics noting it has failed to break out of the crypto bubble despite strong technology and funding. While early users and developers remain bullish on its potential and ecosystem of mini-apps, concerns persist about sustainability, moderation inconsistencies, and whether the platform can ever compete with X for mainstream attention.

9iNe · 1403· 1y ago · neutral17“good vibes”Farcaster feels like what social should’ve been from the start. Open, permissionless, and actually built for users. The culture is real, conversations feel human, and builders aren’t boxed in. Still early, but the foundation is strong.

Millie · 1245· 10mo ago13“The Most Real Web3 Social Right Now”Farcaster feels like the first decentralized social platform that actually works, not just on paper. Clean UX, real people, and tools like Frames make interaction fun instead of noisy. It’s not perfect yet spam is creeping in but the difference is you’re not stuck waiting on a centralized platform to fix it. Builders can experiment, users have more control, and the culture feels way more intentional than X lately. If Web3 social is going to matter, Farcaster is clearly leading the charge.
