Farcaster is a decentralized social protocol built on Base and Ethereum that emphasizes portable identity, on-chain ownership, and builder culture. The platform is praised for its clean UX, Frames (interactive posts), integrated wallet, and genuine community focused on real conversations rather than clout-chasing—often described as crypto Twitter done right. However, adoption remains a persistent challenge: monthly active users peaked around 80,000 in mid-2024 but collapsed to under 20,000 by late 2025, with critics noting it has failed to break out of the crypto bubble despite strong technology and funding. While early users and developers remain bullish on its potential and ecosystem of mini-apps, concerns persist about sustainability, moderation inconsistencies, and whether the platform can ever compete with X for mainstream attention.

“Farcaster”Farcaster is sufficiently decentralized social network protocol, built on Ethereum, aims to be a public, open, and user-owned alternative to traditional social media platforms. It functions as a protocol, similar to email like gmail, where users can choose from various clients (apps) to access the network and manage their accounts and data. Farcaster emphasizes user ownership of data and relationships, allowing users to move their identities between different apps and clients.

“Incredible”Farcaster is a type of social media that operates on the blockchain, giving users more control over their data and allowing developers to build apps freely. Its main app, Warpcast, feels much like Twitter but offers cool features like "Frames" that let you mint NFTs directly in your feed. I like its smooth user experience, built-in crypto wallet, and ways to earn money, with a small sign-up fee helping to reduce spam. I enjoy some of their mini-apps because they are very engaging and fun to interact with.

“Farcaster, Tự do trao tín nhiệm, không cần trung gian”Farcaster đem đến môi trường giao tiếp Web3 đích thực, không quảng cáo, không đánh đổi quyền riêng tư. Mình kết nối ví, share thông tin, follow người mình tin, mọi thứ đều rõ ràng và “giữ mình” từ đầu đến cuối. Đây là nền tảng có cảm giác “chuyên nghiệp mà thân thiện”, đáng để ai quan tâm crypto thử dùng.

“Decentralized Social Media for Degens”If X feels like a crowded mall, Farcaster feels like an underground club where everyone actually speaks the same language. No ads, no farming, no engagement bait, just people who live onchain, sharing ideas, alpha, and culture. It's not trying to be X 2.0. It’s building something entirely different: a place where your identity is yours, and your voice doesn’t need permission.

“The Decentralized Social Network with Potential”Farcaster is a decentralized social platform built on Ethereum, giving users full control over their data and identities. It integrates seamlessly with Web3 and is censorship-resistant, meaning no central authority can control what you see or post. However, Farcaster does have its challenges. The platform’s algorithm tends to favor larger accounts, leaving smaller users with less visibility. Its low adoption compared to established platforms like Twitter makes it harder for new users to gain traction. There are also stability risks as the network scales, which could affect the user experience.

“Amazing Decentralized Social Media Platform!”Ive seen a lot of different social media platforms in our space come and go. Very difficult market when competing with X. I got to say, Farcaster is something that has stuck for many people and they are constantly building out new features and updates
