“non-existent prizes for non-existent competitions”On Nov. 17, idollyAI announced an "Idol Level Leaderboard Competition Campaign," promising to distribute $2000 among the top 10 idols. It wasn't their first competition, but, as I could find out from their X feed, it was their second. I bought the VIP access and some credit, investing $20 total, to start climbing the ladder. My idol (named Li Yin) held a top 3 position (and top 1 by the end of the competition) for the whole duration of the competition, which lasted for two weeks. To be honest, I didn't expect a reward. I knew something was fishy. However, I couldn't believe that someone would be so desperate to scam me out of my $20. I didn't notice any other real users, besides maybe a couple of clueless dudes just like me – the leaderboard was filled with idols created by the founders (Chong @cleverleeee, Andrew @dollysooo, and Jack @jackisgodperson). So, I decided to wait until the end of the competition... I thought the founders would place their existing idols in the top 10 places, but they created totally new idols from scratch in seconds (probably with a script), and these new idols became the new top 10. They didn't even try to hide anything. The next moment they announced the results on X: "Those eligible to receive the 2,000 $USDT total prize pool can check the announcement on Discord." As you can guess, they announced the names of the idols and that they were going to contact their owners via DMs. They did the same thing in their first competition. They only made an X post saying that they would privately contact the winners. No real users were mentioned – no X or Discord handles. Only the empty promise of contacting them – like that would be needed, huh? What could have been an actually great project with a real product and token utility turned out to be a petty scam. Also, I got screenshots with proof for everything I've written here. Even more, the IdollyAI team has already exposed themselves enough on X, so it's not that difficult to make the right judgment. Don't trust or support these guys. Thanks for reading this.evanescent · 1307· 9mo ago · negative5
