Irys is a Layer 1 programmable datachain making data permanent, verifiable, and composable across chains and AI systems through its IrysVM. The project has raised $20 million and built a strong technical foundation with fast uploads, low costs, and developer-friendly infrastructure, earning consistent praise for its innovation in data storage and active community. However, it faces serious credibility issues: a major sybil attack saw 897 interconnected wallets claim ~20% of the airdrop supply, testnet and Galxe participants reported receiving no rewards despite months of participation, and critics allege non-transparent token distribution, unfulfilled promises, and a hard fork of Arweave's codebase without clear community communication—leading many to characterize it as a cash grab or potential rug.

“Favorite revolutionary Datachain”I have been following Irys for over four months now, and a large part of my content is dedicated to the project. I think the idea behind it is groundbreaking because they tackled one of the biggest challenges with data and made it truly useful through the datachain. Although the mainnet has not launched yet, their transaction numbers already close to 1 million. The mainnet launch is coming soon, and there’s a good chance they will run airdrop. I also want to highlight their responsive community. I spend almost every day in their discord channel and there are frequent games and content creation contests on X. The team is very active in engaging with community, hosting sessions on vibecoding and more. Overall this is one of my favorite projects and I genuinely enjoy following their progress.

“Leader in Making”I came across Irys through a friend on X and have been part of the testnet ever since. The team is tackling a long-standing gap in the ecosystem by building one of the most robust datachains to date. It’s been truly impressive to witness their progress and to contribute to this journey.

“Irys: Redefining the Future of Data”Irys is an impressive project that brings true innovation to the blockchain space. By introducing the concept of the Datachain, it creates a reliable and scalable way to store, verify, and share data. The vision is ambitious, but the execution so far shows real potential. Excited to see how Irys continues to grow and shape the future of decentralized data.A very responsive community that will always come to the rescue, if there are any questions, they will always answer them in their discord.

“Next-gen datachain you can’t fade 🚀”Irys is seriously underrated. The way it combines Proof of Work with staking for data availability is 🔥. It’s not just another blockchain – it’s solving real problems in storage, scalability, and security. Block times in seconds + provable storage = massive potential for modular ecosystems. Definitely bullish long-term on this project.

“my favorite project”i enjoyed talking about irys so much, the reason is because of its tech and the freedom it brings to web3 in general.

“Amazing project and even better community! Irys is making Datachains great again and will take this space to new levels!”The Irys fundamentals and ethos around the community is unmatched and unlike any other project I have been part of. There is a big focus on real users and valuable contributions which allows for an organic and supportive community to thrive. The partnerships and collaborations that have already formed, during testnet, is a testament to the strength of the product. Huge shoutout to the team for leading such a powerful revolution and much love to the community for showing up every day. If you are a new or veteran content creator, you will find a home in Irys - one that is full of energy and good vibes.

“Feels Early, Feels Real”For me Irys isn’t just another storage chain it’s the one that finally makes sense. Uploads are fast, simple, and permanent. No pinning, no guessing. Just pure onchain storage that actually works. They’ve got this layered system with smart storage logic, cryptographic receipts, and a dev flow that doesn’t fight you. I tried it, and it really feels right. You get your data where it needs to be, and it stays there trustless, forever. The community? Chill and helpful. Ask something, you get real answers. No egos, just builders who get the mission. Still early, but that’s what makes it exciting. If you care about keeping data truly decentralized and future-proof, Irys might be your new favorite tool.
