Jesse Pollak is the founder and primary face of Base, an Ethereum Layer 2 built by Coinbase, credited with transforming it into one of the most active and accessible L2 ecosystems through relentless community engagement, daily promotion, and support for builders and creators. His consistent shipping, low fees, and developer-first vision have earned widespread respect, though his backing of creator coins, meme tokens, and projects like Soulja Boy's coin—some of which crashed dramatically or proved to be scams—has drawn significant criticism for recklessness and poor judgment despite apparent good intentions.

“Jesse is a Based Guy”I followed Jesse recently, and Discovered he is building @base. Such an interesting and simple guy Love the way he speaks on certain Web3 topics without compromise and all. Just so you know, I'm a big user of Base Network, and Virtual Protocol. Will learn more about him as we progress. Keep up the good work Jesse

“Jesse admirer”Jesse and Coinbase more broadly still get plenty of hate on CT but by all accounts he is a true believer moving the space forward. We need more builders and non-cult purists who believe in the long term vision (V, Jesse, Toly, etc).

“One of those who moves the needle”Sometimes controversial, sometimes with ideas not everyone relate, but he is one of the biggest contributors for Crypto industry who constantly evolves his project and expend his vision. The more people like Jesse, the better for industry.

“Confidence on another Level”True confidence exudes from every pore. Jesse makes Base feel like a mandatory addition to the cryptosphere. While other layer 2s seek to capture... Jesse's name is synonymous with creating value and being unafraid to go first. Just getting started.
