Jesse Pollak is the founder and primary face of Base, an Ethereum Layer 2 built by Coinbase, credited with transforming it into one of the most active and accessible L2 ecosystems through relentless community engagement, daily promotion, and support for builders and creators. His consistent shipping, low fees, and developer-first vision have earned widespread respect, though his backing of creator coins, meme tokens, and projects like Soulja Boy's coin—some of which crashed dramatically or proved to be scams—has drawn significant criticism for recklessness and poor judgment despite apparent good intentions.

“Jesse isn’t just talking Web3, he’s building it”As Base’s builder #001, he set the tone for what the network is becoming. His posts cut through the noise — less hype, more vision. In a space full of talkers, Jesse feels like one of the few actually putting bricks into the future.

“The Face of Base”Jesse has become a true representative of Base by consistently showing up and pushing the ecosystem forward. He’s not just tweeting from behind a screen he’s gone to the streets to make videos, amplify creators, and actively engage with users. What sets him apart is that he bridges the gap between institutions and web3 natives, making Base feel more approachable while keeping an eye on consumer adoption. Sure, there are moments where his takes can spark debate, but his intentions are clearly grounded in wanting to see the ecosystem thrive. At the end of the day, Jesse isn’t just talking he’s building, supporting, and living the culture. This guy really is Base.

“Basechain”He’s been one of the strongest voices pushing Base into the spotlight. I genuinely think the chain wouldn’t have reached its current presence without his steady grind. From filming street interviews to consistently posting content he’s gone above and beyond to spread the word about Base. Every day he’s out there amplifying creators and supporting builders while also taking time to engage directly with the community. This isn’t someone who just talks about doing things—he actually shows up and delivers. He embodies what Base stands for.
