Jesse Pollak is the founder and primary face of Base, an Ethereum Layer 2 built by Coinbase, credited with transforming it into one of the most active and accessible L2 ecosystems through relentless community engagement, daily promotion, and support for builders and creators. His consistent shipping, low fees, and developer-first vision have earned widespread respect, though his backing of creator coins, meme tokens, and projects like Soulja Boy's coin—some of which crashed dramatically or proved to be scams—has drawn significant criticism for recklessness and poor judgment despite apparent good intentions.

“A positive builder”Jesse is often perceived as a controversial character in the crypto spasce, but truth is that he is a big net positive contributor. I like Jesse because he focuses on the substance of what needs to be built, not the noise around it. I appreciate his clarity when communicating — he explains complex systems without overselling them. His work on Base reflects a steady, long-term mindset that values user trust and real adoption over hype. In a space that often rewards attention, Jesse consistently shows up with focus, humility, and a commitment to infrastructure that lasts. Just needs to shutdown the background noise and keep building and experimenting!kaiser.eth · 1259· 1y ago9
“A Review About Jesse”Jesse is the guy who made Base, a fast and cheap crypto network. He works to make crypto easy for everyone and helps build tools people can use every day🧘‍♂️Holy🕊️ Blood🕊️🧘‍♂️Jr · 1307· 1y ago9
“OG and well informed person”I've seen many builders come and go, but learning from Jesse's posts—his consistent championing of Base, plus his innovative work with 0xCity3—tops them all. It's rare to find someone so deeply invested in both infrastructure and community. His communication isn't just informative; it's a blueprint for how to build a better web3.🕊️ Tarisde.eth 🈴 · 1348· 1y ago9
“Driving Consumer Adoption”What stands out most about Jesse is his ability to serve as an effective bridge between major institutions and web3 natives. He has a strong grasp of UX challenges and generally fosters a positive environment. While he’s faced criticism for occasional missteps due to technical misunderstandings (e.g., Flashbots & Base partnership), these might be overlooked for other builders. As a Base spokesperson, there’s room for growth in refining his technical accuracy.马克如Mcrowe · 1276· 1y ago9

“Base founder and builder”Jesse the founder of base has shown his visionary prowess. Base has an outstanding founder in Jesse. His energy is unmatched and unrivalled in the web3 space but i kinda feel he still needs to work on some of his gimmicks that kinda feels awkward.Proffit · 1235· 1y ago9
“GR8MAN”A legit leader in crypto, driving Base to make Ethereum cheaper and easier for devs. His big vision to onboard a billion people is inspiring, and he’s super transparent owning mistakes like the April 2025 art post and always learning. People like Zuri and David Hoffman vibe with his honesty and energy. From Coinbase Wallet to Base, Jesse’s hustle and optimism make him a solid force for good in the space.ICAN · 1235· 1y ago9
