From 253 activities · Apr 2026Jesse Pollak is the founder and primary face of Base, an Ethereum Layer 2 built by Coinbase, credited with transforming it into one of the most active and accessible L2 ecosystems through relentless community engagement, daily promotion, and support for builders and creators. His consistent shipping, low fees, and developer-first vision have earned widespread respect, though his backing of creator coins, meme tokens, and projects like Soulja Boy's coin—some of which crashed dramatically or proved to be scams—has drawn significant criticism for recklessness and poor judgment despite apparent good intentions.

suryaprakash.base.eth · 1232· 2mo ago0“Crypto ambassador”Despite the shit he gets for trying new things, Jesse has always been 100% an advocate for everything crypto. He has positively contributed to the space in a meaningful way during his tenure at CB. He engages with projects across the space and supports them in any way he can. He is a cheerleader across all areas of the ecosystem and that's an important role to have filled. The "coin-it" era was maybe not great, but I respect the experiment!

He consistently supports builders, engages with the community, and stays active instead of only making promises. While not every decision or project he's promoted has been perfect, I believe his overall intention has always been to push the ecosystem forward. Building at this scale comes with challenges, and he's continued to show up, listen, and keep improving. Overall, I see Jesse as a credible leader who has had a meaningful positive impact on Base and the broader Web3 space.

OneHundredEyez · 1292· 4mo ago0“Jesse Pollak Isn’t Just Building Tech, He’s Building Inclusion”Man, any time I see a thread from you on Base, Stable coin international, and Vision "all assets on chain," one word always pops up in my head. As a builder #001, you have convinced me that on-chain economy is achievable for everybody, even in emerging markets. Push yourself and "build your bank on Base." What you have accomplished so far cannot be attributed to technology but global financial inclusivity.

What stands out isn't just the promotion of the network, but the consistency in showing up and supporting the ecosystem as it grows. A lot of developers found their way into Base because someone kept reminding them to build instead of just watch from the sidelines.

Priyadidanu base.eth · 1290· 4mo ago0“Always Focused on Building”What stands out is the consistent focus on growing the ecosystem and helping builders get started. Even during difficult moments, the attention remains on shipping products, supporting developers, and expanding adoption. That long-term builder mindset is a big reason why so many people continue to support the vision behind Base.

xMax · 1257· 4mo ago0“The ultimate builder”What makes Jesse so great is that he doesn’t just build from an ivory tower, he gets right down in the trenches with everyone else. By making it incredibly simple for everyday creators, artists, and indie devs to launch on-chain, he has transformed Base into the default home for retail crypto. He’s living proof that a massive network can still maintain an authentic, grassroots soul.
