Jesse Pollak is the founder and primary face of Base, an Ethereum Layer 2 built by Coinbase, credited with transforming it into one of the most active and accessible L2 ecosystems through relentless community engagement, daily promotion, and support for builders and creators. His consistent shipping, low fees, and developer-first vision have earned widespread respect, though his backing of creator coins, meme tokens, and projects like Soulja Boy's coin—some of which crashed dramatically or proved to be scams—has drawn significant criticism for recklessness and poor judgment despite apparent good intentions.

“A Real Builder With Long-Term Vision”As the driving force behind Base, he’s helped shape a strong narrative around scaling Ethereum while keeping builders and creators at the center. Base didn’t grow just because of branding — it grew because there’s clear direction and solid execution behind it His role at Coinbase also shows he understands both infrastructure and user adoption. That mix of technical depth and product mindset is rare, especially in a space that often leans too far to one side What stands out most is his focus on building for the long term instead of chasing short-term hype. In a market that moves fast and gets distracted easily, having leaders who consistently push real development and culture forward is a big plusdilo · 1200· 8mo ago0
“Based Coinbase board member and lead of Base Chain”I couldn't tell you the lead of any other Ethereum L2, but I can tell you about Jesse. This guy is a real chad for ethereum and the entire crypto space. Whether you love or hate base chain, you have to respect the work Jesse and his team puts into interacting with base users. I've personally interacted with him on Farcaster and seen how consistently he provides support to builders and artists who are building on base. Apart from that he's a really likeable guy who makes himself accessible with videos, jumping into spaces for base projects, and I honestly don't know how he does it and still has time for family and his responsibilities as a board member. He is the reason I support base chain, hands down.chris24.eth · 1291· 8mo ago0
“Community mogul”Jesse has the base community at heart. He tries his best to answer questions about the base ecosystem and supports as many builders as he can by supporting their products. He makes sure clarity is served whenever there is uncertainty around the ecosystem. I see him as a based founder.Marksman🎯 · 1253· 8mo ago0

“divided”My opinion on Jesse is kinda divided currently. He was all in-it for shilling Base chain and Baseapp, then switched towards creator coins “supporter”. Supporting creators aren’t bad, but he then started shilling them and many got rekt cause of that. He knows this, he made use of his power. Now he’s onto Ai moltbook coins. Things aren’t looking well. He is low-key destroying Base and bringing it into a shitcoin chain like Solana.Musky · 1295· 9mo ago · neutral0
