“Bitter sweet story”KRO got me into NFTs in the first place, for which I am very grateful. However, he did not succeed making Moonbirds a success (which is ok, it is a very hard thing to do). Main issue I have personally is, he does not stick to what says (e.g. said regarding his once legendary xcopy collection he will take pieces to his grave and then months later sold them). “Disappointed in Kevin Rose’s Direction”I used to follow Kevin Rose for his insights and thought leadership in tech and crypto, but lately his X account just feels like a stream of self-promotion with very little actual substance. For someone with such a big following, the content is surprisingly empty. The big red flag for me was when he got phished and lost over $1 million worth of NFTs. That kind of mistake is hard to overlook, especially from someone who presents himself as a crypto veteran. It just doesn’t inspire much confidence. Then there’s the whole situation with Moonbirds and PROOF—after building a community around long-term digital art ownership, he sold off major pieces not long after the company was acquired. That move felt pretty out of touch and kind of undermines everything he had been preaching. Overall, it’s disappointing. “Serial Founder with bad Intentions”It's hard to find someone in this space more untrustworthy and fake than this guy. I could write a book on the deceptive things he has done with PROOF and the damage he has caused to others, but to be honest it's not worth the time. Unbelievably, he was bailed out of a failing project of his yet again when he sold PROOF, enabling him to scurry away with a ton of money while most of the community lost theirs. I am only writing this to help keep other people away from anything the guy touches and hopefully prevent you from losing significant time and money. He seems to have a dark cloud hanging over him wherever he goes that is contagious. Surrounds himself with yes men and women who are too afraid to stand up to him. I get the impression he only made the jump from web2 to crypto to try and make more money as opposed to actually believing in our space.
