“Overpromised, Underdelivered”Overhyped and disappointing. KevinRose has consistently failed to deliver on the promises made to the Proof and Moonbirds community. From the CC0 blunder to the canceled Proof of Conference, the project suffered from poor management and arrogance, leaving long-time supporters frustrated and disillusioned. ““My Biggest Disappointment in Web3 The Moonbirds Experience”After pocketing millions, the Moonbirds founder abandoned the project. His arrogance and lack of humility caused it to collapse, and it still hasn’t recovered. For many, the cc0 mistake marked the start of Proof and Moonbirds’ decline, but for me, canceling Proof of Conference was the final blow. Despite high hopes, repeated errors and poor decisions made the experience thoroughly disappointing. KRO may have a talent for convincing people, but personally, I consider him one of the most overrated founders. “As a collaborator I enjoyed KRO”My time with Kevin started in the middle of 2021, when I was invited to a small group chat of artists and likeminded thinkers, and it was a really nice environment - that group grew into the Proof collective which as we've all seen had its highs and lows. I have to review Kevin as the person I knew him as, which was always in the capacity of creative collaboration with a dash of business. He always looked out for me and was a great friend to make art alongside, along with Justin Mezzell. In conversations he had the best, honest intentions, and I've seen the proof of the work behind the scenes that didn't make it to finished products, so I can't get behind the idea that he didn't try or was somehow malicious. “Not so much a grifter as clueless”I witnessed first hand how KRO tanked the Moonbirds and PROOF projects. His decisions were out of touch with web3 sensibilities and he did not listen to any feedback from his community which may have helped get things back on track - in-fact he took a hiatus from X and went to Threads!) “Disappointing leadership”The one thing I can credit Kevin for is introducing me to NFTs and ArtBlocks in early 2021. I was a fan of his previous ventures and insights and listened to his podcast where he spoke about the emerging space. From there he started Proof and Moonbrids during the height of the NFT bull run which soared to insane prices and never reciprocated the value.
