Received · 10Given · 0“L2 exit scammers”One of the first casualties of the L2 era, seems a new one is popping up now and then. Kroma had a lot of hype, there were high hopes, defi and gamefi and an active testnet phase. The resulting drop was hideous, there were mentions of insider (team) selling on CEX's. Fast forward a few months, with TVL looking embarrassing, they have announced the closure of the network, giving short notice for fund removal. Morally and ethically bankrupt. The fools running the show, now are pivoting to some manner of intelligence layer, i bet they are hounding Kaito for a spot on the marketing campaign.

We don't need them for anything, their only usecase is making their team and their VCs money. Kroma is just one of few that are pulling the plug rather than bleeding out slowly.

They raised funds from presales of Guardian NFT in January 2024 and now they are scheduled to shut down all operations. Deep condolences to the peoples that got affected by this.

Kind of a joke and scammy. Lol

Instead of genuine development, they leaned heavily on endless Galxe tasks—each costing participants money and a lot of time—while the actual dApps and games on the chain were poorly built and barely functional. They shilled an airdrop aggressively with KOL support, advertising Wemix as their parent company, to create artificial hype. But when the TGE finally arrived, the token launched at a very low market cap, and both airdroppers and investors ended up getting cooked. Over time, usage on the chain vanished, the token price collapsed by 99%, and after months of decline, the team announced that Kroma Network was shutting down. In hindsight, the whole project feels like an absolute pre-planned grift, extracting value from users with little to no intention of long-term building.
