Here are the full details david shared in punks chat hey fam - i want to share a potential attack vector that almost just happened to me & my friend punk-owning friend hits me up this AM asking me to be an escrow. his spidey senses were tingling but nothing more friend gets me to spin up an escrow wallet, and puts me in an X group chat with the potential buyer potential buyer acts scared, timid, nervous, says hes never done an OTC trade like this before friend sends me his punk to my address, all gucci waiting for potential buyer to send in his punk + the agreed upon ETH to trade for friends punk i get added to Discord group chat by the potential buyer, who adds my friend into that groupchat OR SO I THOUGHT some discourse happens, blah blah they want to pause the deal for some reason, my friend asks me to return the punk he sent to my escrew wallet. he shares an address for me to send it back to i put address in etherscan; brand new virgin address wtf.jpg i hit my friend up in imessage, asking "why do you want me to send it to a brand new address?" my friend is like wtf are you talking about i check mutual servers with friend's discord account - only punks discord mutual server (and i know thats not right) scammer did some research finding out what my friends discord account looks like to make a copy of it i was moving quickly so the flags i missed were getting added to a discord chat without being informed by my verified friend that thats what we are doing the potential buyer adding in my friend, it should have been my friend that added me to the chat, not the buyer ultimately happy ending, no punks were lost in this adventure
