From 41 activities · Apr 2026CEO of Helius and a core Solana builder known for shipping foundational infrastructure—RPC, indexing, and developer tooling that simplifies on-chain development. Recognized for deep technical expertise in Solana's ecosystem, direct and often humorous takes on X, and consistent advocacy for the chain; also credited with mobilizing validators during critical governance moments. While primarily focused on building practical products rather than hype, some note inconsistent communication and find his Solana maximalism and privacy coin advocacy polarizing.

Bongo 🥁 · 1308· 1y ago13“A very controversial but positive figure for the crypto community”A highly influential OG who, in addition to participating in the development of Tier-1/2 projects, also publicly interacts with top crypto representatives, such as Yakovenko. Yes, Mert is mentioned in the incident related to the NEAR X account hack, which is more an indicator of how strongly his name influences people's opinions about projects and his significance.

“Must Follow on X”Mert is an OG! He is one of the most well respected voices on all of Crypto Twitter. Even if you come for the informative and insightful content but stay for the banter, he is someone you must be following on X. Long time follower and huge fan! Go bald or go home!

He builds real infrastructure through Helius, and he is clear about why it matters. Every time I come across one of his posts, it usually teaches me something or gives a fresh take, especially around Solana tech, scaling, or dev tools. He also has a way of calling things out, just straightforward and sharp. I don’t know him personally, but from what i have seen, he is playing a big role in helping Solana grow the right way, not just louder, but smarter

chuchay.eth ✦ Ⓜ️Ⓜ️T · 1276· 1y ago7“extreme solana bias”mert is a solana builder first and solana shill most of all. that can be a good point for highlighting the strengths of solana(high throughput) but he often fails to recognise shortcomings of whatever he may be involved with building. hence a neutral rating

dara · 1329· 1y ago7“Solana’s Meme-Coded Builder”Mert is that sharp, witty Solana guy who mixes deep technical insights with memes and real talk. CEO of Helius, ex-Coinbase, but never too serious to drop a "we’re cooked" if crypto gets weird. Always building, always tweeting.
