Monad is a high-performance EVM-compatible Layer 1 with impressive technical architecture—parallel execution, 10,000 TPS target, and low latency—that has attracted a passionate community and strong funding. However, the project is deeply polarized: supporters praise the tech, speed, and community bonds formed during testnet, while a substantial portion of the community feels betrayed by the airdrop distribution, which heavily favored influencers and external crypto participants over testnet users who spent months testing and providing feedback. The core tension centers on broken trust—many early supporters view the tokenomics as extractive and the community rewards as unfair, with testnet participants receiving minimal allocation despite their contributions, while others remain bullish on the technical foundation and long-term potential.

“When a Great Network Loses Its Community's Trust”My first review about Monad was positive, and they truly deserved it back then. The network looked amazing: super fast, innovative, and full of potential. But everything changed on October 14, when Monad launched their eligibility checker. Only 5,500 members from Monad community were eligible, compared to almost 225,000 random wallets from the broader crypto space - people who had nothing to do with Monad at all. The actual Monad community got less than 2.5% of the total allocation. That says a lot about how the team really values its supporters. Instead of rewarding loyal testers and contributors, Monad chose to favor outsiders - traders, DeFi users, and NFT holders from other ecosystems. As they themselves said: "We focused on usage of major DeFi protocols, especially usage that would require contributing capital for sustained periods of time, as well as high-volume DEX traders and holders of some notable NFT collections" Monad basically turned its back on its testers - the same people who helped them for months in the testnet, believing that their efforts mattered. They didn't reward anyone for testnet activity, even though they kept encouraging people to participate. In the end, eight months of work and support from the community were completely ignored. Those who actually believed in Monad got nothing, while wallets with zero transactions in Monad got rewarded. And let's be honest - most of them will just dump the tokens the moment they can.Evaneskate · 1415· 1y ago · negative13
