“Monad = Friends = My web3 journey”I’ve been in Web3 for a while, but discovering Monad genuinely changed my journey for the better. It wasn’t just about the tech (which is impressive), but about the people and the community that formed around it. Through Monad, I connected with some incredible individuals from all over the world. From simple conversations in chats to meetings in real life. There’s something special about building alongside people who share the same passion. Going from usernames and profile pictures to actually sitting down, laughing, and sharing ideas in person is an experience I’ll never forget. (Bolivar!) “Breaking the System”Monad has set a new precedent in airdrops. It’s the first project that rewarded the active crypto community based on various criteria (ICO participants, active NFT traders, etc.), but did not reward its own testnet users. I received the drop almost without participating in the testnet, thanks to some other achievements. Is this good or bad? I don’t know, but it’s definitely something new in the era of airdrops, and I wonder if other projects will follow this example.

“Unfair”You've been unfair to your community. I personally meet more than half the criteria for a drop, but I still haven't received one. But I know people who, without doing anything and having no criteria for receiving one, somehow miraculously received a drop, and a tier-3 one at that! You've simply devalued your community.

“Huge promises, turns out a miserable failure”Monad has been hyped as potential solution to the famous Blockchain trilemma: decentralisation, security, scalability. But after revealing the tokenomics, it became crystal clear that the network tokens, which are to be staked to validate the network, have been distributed into just a few actors hands, namely the team and VCs and hence an effective decentralisation as promised is virtually impossible for many years to come. The result is yet another L1 Blockchain controlled by the engineering team. The tech might be great, but does it even matter? Without decentralisation, the greatest tech is absolutely useless. The same few actors from team and VCs will be running an overwhelming majority of the potentially thousands of cheap nodes, a complete farce! Yeah, but 10k TPS, what about that? Well, since the users have to trust the team anyways, why not run a Database on a single computer, that's probably even faster.

“The best project in this cycle!”Monad made me understand what a good chain is, what a good community is, and grasp the meaning of patience exceptionally well. In fact, we are almost at the moment we have been waiting for, but Monado continues to move forward. I wish this project the success that Keone and the team have envisioned.
