The Grey · 1245· 1y ago · negative13“Misses the Mark”I’m bummed by their Avalanche-based FPS. Their July 2025 STX2 playtest bragged about 250K players, but chatter on X calls it a cash grab with too many NFTs flooding the market. Delayed $SHRAP token payouts sour the idea of earning while playing, and the $10 million community allocation feels like a flashy cover-up when bugs and lag keep crashing the fun.

Tԋҽ ʅαԃყ Fιʂαყσ 👸🏾 · 1219· 1y ago · negative13“A Hyped-Up Blockchain FPS That Fizzles into Nothing”There were high hopes for @playSHRAPNEL—it was supposed to be a AAA-quality blockchain FPS, promising true digital ownership on Avalanche. But honestly, what we got falls way short of those big promises. Plenty of people on X—like @fraternidadecry’s harsh post—have called the game out for being bland, dull, and run by developers who seem anything but professional. And when it comes to “in-game economy,” it’s basically nonexistent. The team behind Shrapnel may have BAFTA and Emmy winners, and sure, the Unreal Engine 5 visuals look flashy in the trailers. But after a few matches, the gameplay starts to feel repetitive and just doesn’t grab you or make you want to stick around. The whole “player-driven economy” with SHRAP tokens and NFTs was exciting on paper, but in reality, it’s totally lifeless; the marketplace is quiet, the tokens don’t really do much, and it all feels pretty pointless. Their switch from Avalanche to Gala Games didn’t help at all—the community mostly thinks the game is “dead” now. Even the airdrops and rewards that were supposed to energize players just ended up disappointing everyone. Early access through Extraction Packs only catered to hardcore fans, leaving regular gamers behind. The “creator tools” for modding? Still way undercooked and not enough reason to keep playing. Considering the $20M raised and backers like Polychain Capital, the end result is surprisingly weak. The early events (STXs) don’t capture the competitive excitement or meaningful blockchain integration players were promised—it just feels like blockchain for the sake of it, while the core FPS experience gets overlooked. @playSHRAPNEL’s vision of combining fast-paced shooter action with Web3 innovation could’ve been great. Unfortunately, what we actually got is a letdown: lackluster content, average gameplay, and lots of missed opportunities. In a crowded space with games like Deadrop and GRIT, Shrapnel just gets lost in the shuffle and leaves players feeling disappointed. Think twice before spending your time and money—it just doesn’t deliver on the hype right now.

barissomeroglu10.eth 🔺 · 1232· 1y ago · negative13“Slow rug masked as ambition.”Shrapnel started with huge promises a high-quality FPS on-chain, with deep token integration. Instead, we got misleading marketing, a broken economy, and a dev team that seems more focused on token exits than gameplay. The move from Avalanche to Gala (via a spammy influencer push) was the final blow for many. Community feedback is ignored, marketplace is dead, and transparency is nonexistent. A textbook slow rug in motion.

Caine · 1257· 1y ago · negative11“"All hype, no delivery""”SHRAPNEL had all the buzz: AMA sessions, watching streams, flashy trailers, NFT mints. I was there, part of it. But when the game was released, everything went down the drain. I didn't see anything unusual in the game, although ma expectations were sky-high. We grew up on expectations (as in most cases). But once it dropped, it felt empty. Gameplay isn’t smooth, combat feels awkward, and all those NFT operators are now worth pennies. Look at my operators and sometimes it seems like the commission on the network could be more expensive, it’s a shame to sell. LOL. The hype train crashed fast.

Gichman · 1461· 12mo ago · negative19“AAA Claims, Web3 Execution Problems”Shrapnel sells itself as the first AAA first-person shooter built onchain cinematic trailers, toptier graphics, and big studio promises. But under all that flash, it’s fighting the same battle every Web3 game does: no real player base, unclear tokenomics, and gameplay that hasn’t been stress-tested outside of controlled demos. The team is legit ex-Halo, ex-Call of Duty —but Web3 native gamers aren’t here for glossy visuals alone. They want actual playability, fairness, and incentive design that doesn’t feel like a cash grab. Right now, Shrapnel feels more like a slick vertical slice meant to attract VC dollars than something regular players will grind for. If it ever delivers what it’s promising, it could set a new bar for crypto gaming. But that’s still an if. For now, it’s all pre-alpha sizzle, no confirmed steak.

Daemial · 1284· 1y ago · negative8“I’ve spent an entire year trying to pass KYC in this project — and still got no approval.”It all started right after they gave out 30 tokens to everyone who was registered on the platform. Since then, I’ve tried to verify my documents multiple times, always following their rules, using real and valid documents. ⠀ And yet, they blatantly refused to verify me — with no clear reason.! ⠀ I have all the proof showing how these scammers keep denying my verification requests. Honestly, it feels like a scam — they announced an airdrop, but in reality, they’re blocking users from claiming it through shady KYC rejections. ⠀ This project has zero credibility. They’re just ripping off their own community.
