“Poor business accountability”Dan Geer oversaw one of the most disappointing breaches of trust we’ve seen in recent token launches. Just 48 hours before the scheduled TGE, DeFi App unilaterally changed investor vesting terms—removing the originally agreed 33% unlock in May 2025 and replacing it with a 12-month cliff and 3-year linear vesting. These changes were communicated as non-negotiable, without any formal vote or consent from investors, including lead backers. The justification provided was vague: “Tier 1 exchange requirements.” But no documentation, exchange terms, or clear reasoning was shared. Instead, the change was framed as mandatory across all stakeholders—investors, team members, and advisors—ignoring basic governance practices and contractual expectations. Early-stage investors took material risk to support this project pre-product. To be sidelined at the finish line, days before TGE, sets a dangerous precedent. This isn’t just about vesting; it’s about accountability, transparency, and honoring agreements. Professionally speaking, any founder capable of retroactively altering investor terms with no recourse should be met with caution. Regardless of how strong the metrics look, investors deserve to know that this is a founder who can and will change terms unilaterally. Proceed with care on any future ventures led by Dan Geer. Structures and contracts are only as strong as the leadership behind them.

One of my biggest losses last cycle was Rug Radio. They were idle for a long time until the recent acquisition. Even small things, like promised raffles when I bought these rugs, were poorly executed, and quality collaborations were lacking. Many other projects did much more for holders during the bear. I know there’s more to what he does, but this is just my poor experience with the RR community.

Colin shares a similar banking background so I have always kicked it off with him and found mutual ground. He is thoughtful and an experienced trader in the space. Oftentimes advisors are not active traders, he is both, which holds a lot of weight with clients who seek experienced advisors in the space. He is someone who will succeed in any endeavor he sets his eyes on.

She’s thoughtful, supportive, and a net positive presence in the community. No one is perfect, and mistakes happen, but the way she has conducted herself while balancing her priorities speaks for itself.

on Sean Bonner🔥 · 1448· 1y ago25“Lacks transparency and accountability”Doran currently leads community efforts at DeFi App—but instead of fostering transparency or open discussion, he’s actively suppressing it. Following a major breach of investor trust—where DeFi App changed vesting terms 48 hours before TGE without consent from investors, including leads—Doran has chosen to mute and censor community members who raise legitimate concerns about the team’s actions. Rather than engage constructively or offer clarity, Doran’s approach has been to silence dissent—even when that dissent comes from early supporters who backed the project when there was nothing but a deck. Community management isn’t about spin—it’s about trust, accountability, and holding leadership to the same standards they expect from others. When the Head of Community becomes the first line of defense for bad behavior, it sends a clear signal: this is not a team that welcomes transparency. Future communities should think twice before placing their public-facing comms in the hands of someone willing to mute the truth.
