From 713 activities · Mar 2026Serpin is the founder and CEO of Ethos Network, a platform building on-chain reputation and trust systems for Web3. A 12-year product leader with experience at Atlassian, HouseCallPro, and as an early hire at Message.io (YC W16), he brings deep expertise in product, security, identity verification, and fraud prevention. Known for hands-on community engagement, transparent leadership, and relentless focus on detecting Sybil actors and bad actors through slashing and verification mechanisms, Serpin is widely recognized as a builder committed to doing things the right way rather than chasing hype—consistently shipping features, hosting vibe coding sessions and spaces, and staying actively involved in Discord and community feedback loops.

It was the first time I saw how easily someone can come up with something cool and immediately start implementing the idea, discussing the details with the users of his platform who, in effect, also participate in developing the project and help find and fix its shortcomings. I never thought CEOs could be so responsive. He literally replies to every message people send in the chat, paying attention to all active viewers. Even if someone has already asked a similar question or joined the stream late and asks what the idea is - he simply takes the time to explain it again. All of this is because he genuinely enjoys the process of creating and engaging with the community. He also welcomes criticism. When people point out flaws in Ethos, he checks them and immediately writes them down so he won't forget to fix them, instead of starting an argument to prove that everything should be as it is. I can see that he’s passionate about his ideas, and I like the direction Ethos is heading.

In every talk and announcement, they emphasize how much the community matters. Serpin, the one leading this team, truly seems like a community-driven person and I think he’s doing a great job.

Помимо того, что он отвечал на вопросы интервьюера, он еще успевал писать ответы в чат членам сообщества. Такая открытость подкупает и вселяет уверенность в репутации человека.

Andrew Forte · 1343· 1y ago22“Trust takes time”How can you be on Ethos and not write a review about Serpin. When I first joined Ethos 3 months ago, I didn’t really understand all the concepts behind the project. It was by listening to Serpin’s spaces on X that I began to grasp the real scope and ambition of what he’s building. The more I use Ethos, the more I understand Serpin’s vision. This idea of reputation and credibility is what I would call a marathon project. What I mean is that it will probably take months, or even years, to build a truly reliable system. But even now, I can already spot X profiles that don’t seem trustworthy, and I think that’s pretty amazing. That’s why I really appreciate the work Serpin and his team are doing. Personally, I plan to contribute and get involved as much as I can. I also had the chance to talk with him on Discord, especially about an update that I initially thought was a bug. I really appreciated that Serpin took the time to explain it to me and even asked for my opinion. I hope you’ll keep doing the spaces. Even if I don’t always understand everything, I always find them insightful and valuable.
