Serpin is the founder and CEO of Ethos Network, a reputation and accountability platform built on-chain to combat sybils, scammers, and bad actors in crypto. A 12-year product leader with experience at Atlassian, HouseCallPro, and as an early hire at Message.io (YC W16), he brings deep expertise in product, security, identity verification, and fraud prevention. Known for hands-on community engagement, transparent communication, and uncompromising commitment to building trust through economic incentives and measurable reputation—he actively vouches for credible users, slashes bad actors with evidence, and iterates on Ethos mechanics based on real user behavior. Consistently praised for his work ethic, accessibility despite being CEO, and vision of making crypto more human-centered and trustworthy.

“Claims that Ethos is stealing his idea for his project "PasslyAI"”Seif was introduced to me through SafZ He's working on a project called PasslyAI. He pitched it to me via group DM. I didn't fully understand how what he did integrated into Ethos, and we briefly talked about it. It seemed sort of like gitcoin passport to me, except you didn't know what account was on the other end of their connections. I didn't see how this really fit into Ethos or how we could help them. We shipped the "Attest Telegram" functionality during this time and Seif is claiming that we stole this functionality from him. That is not true; this is just an extension of our existing attestation functionality - we shipped Farcaster integration similarly earlier this week. It's an extension of Privy. He was upset we shipped the Telegram functionality and claimed we stole something from him. That is absolutely not true, and I really have no idea why he even thinks this might be true. He has pointed back to Ethos' attestation contract functionality and said we blatantly copied code. That's impossible and verifiable onchain - our Attestation contract has not changed since our smart contract audit back in October of 2024. His behavior was so odd to me that I reached out to several other people last night to find out who he was because I did not understand why anyone would act like this. Now I'm getting DMs from people saying there's some sort of "dispute" between us. I've since blocked him and removed myself from the group DM. It feels to me more like Seif is trying to get attention via Ethos by claiming we "stole something" from him when it is verifiably untrue.on Seif𓂀 · 1198· 1y ago · negative180
