From 12 activities · Apr 2026Tea Protocol has faced persistent criticism over repeated TGE delays spanning multiple years, missed launch dates from Q4 2024 through Q1 2026, and a significant token price crash of over 80% within minutes of trading. Community concerns center on stalled testnet progress since 2023, questionable metrics (11 million accounts claimed with suspected bot activity), failed anti-gaming mechanics that flooded the testnet with spam, and allegations of unfair treatment toward ICO investors whose token allocations were delayed post-listing. The project is widely viewed as having abandoned its open-source developer mission in favor of continuous fundraising rounds.

Received · 12Given · 0“Hopeless TGE”This project feels completely wasted at this point, and it’s hard to tell if the team has already abandoned it. TGE has been delayed multiple times, and their X posts look like low-effort AI content. They’ve run countless testnets but still no clear update on when TGE will actually happen. Honestly, I don’t get why CoinList backed this.

Chikao | ETHGas ⛽ · 1456· 7mo ago · negative17“Stuck in Testnet Since 2023”I have been following and participating in the Tea project since 2023, and honestly,it feels like nothing has really changed since that time. Looking back, there were a lot of activities and testnet campaigns, but they just keep dragging on with no clear end in sight. At the same time, the project keeps announcing new funding rounds and attracting more investors, which starts to feel off. Instead of moving closer to a real product or mainnet, it looks like the focus is just on raising more money and keeping things going indefinitely. Where did money go? Nobody knows. What bothers me the most is the lack of transparency. What I mean? The team is pretty much invisible, there’s no clear communication, and no real explanation of where things are heading. At this point, it feels like people have simply lost interest and moved on. Thyere are dozens of good projects in the Web3 space which are more worse than this. For me, it’s hard to see this project as credible anymore.

Kheddy🦈base.eth · 1279· 8mo ago · negative11“11 Million Account Creation :)”I honestly say: the claim of (11 million accounts, not wallets) and (320 million transactions) is merely a flashy statistic to grab attention; even the project's own page presents these numbers. :) It seems like there's some manipulation with bots and daily transactions, lacking a real ecosystem or tangible application, and everything boils down to the token. In short, there's a whiff of a scam and baseless excitement here; be careful with your money.

Sriyan Fernando · 1421· 59d ago · negative11“Lewis a founder of Anti Criticism”Are you still dealing with the same "delay" issue from last year, and it's still unresolved? The problem isn't the delay itself. The real problem is that you've repeatedly failed to keep your word. Since Q4 2024, then Q1 2025, Q2, Q4, and now Q1 2026,multiple timelines have been given and missed. Specific dates are mentioned (February 5th, March 17th), and in the end, the tweets are simply deleted. This isn't a matter of patience anymore. It's a matter of credibility. Post this to Twitter Comments, or Discord, or Telegram. You'll get banned. Devs don't want criticism to look like a scam

Andan I 0xrinbase.eth I | 𝔽rAI (❖,❖) | · 1196· 9mo ago · negative4“Rugged ICO investor”I followed Tea Protocol for over two years and expected a fair launch after all the hype around the project, community rewards, and testnet participation. The ICO was conducted on CoinList at $0.0005 per token with a promised 100% unlock. However, after TGE, the token price crashed by more than 80% within the first five minutes of trading. Shortly after the dump, CoinList opened token claiming for ICO participants, meaning investors received tokens that were already worth far less than the price they paid. At the same time, the project had promoted a 28% community allocation for airdrops, yet community members are still waiting for clear information about distribution. Many users spent years completing testnets and community tasks with nothing to show for it so far. For me, this launch destroyed confidence in the project. Early investors were immediately down more than 80%, and long-term supporters remain unrewarded despite years of participation.

mazal · 1222· 6mo ago · negative0
mazal · 1222· 6mo ago · negative0“It Is Hopeless”Tea Protocol positions itself as the savior for open-source developers. Stake on packages, reward real contributions, fix the broken economics of OSS. Nice vision on paper. But the execution has been messy from day one. Their testnet got flooded with spammy packages specifically created to farm TEA points. The team had to shut down the entire reward program because of it. That’s not a small hiccup that’s a fundamental failure in their anti-gaming mechanics. Fast forward and you still see the same pattern. Big promises about sustainable funding for maintainers, yet the actual on-chain rewards and reputation system haven’t delivered anything close to what was hyped. A lot of developers who got excited early ended up frustrated with delays, unclear distribution, and the feeling that the protocol was more about hype than real impact.
