“Big disappointment”Terra was once one of the biggest success stories in crypto. It built one of the strongest communities of its cycle and many people saw it as the future of DeFi, with UST and the Anchor ecosystem attracting massive adoption and billions in value. What I liked about Terra: - huge ecosystem growth - strong community - innovative vision - one of the biggest DeFi narratives of its time But Terra also became one of the biggest lessons in crypto history. When UST lost its peg, the system entered a death spiral that erased tens of billions of dollars and shook the entire market. Terra showed both sides of crypto: how fast innovation can rise, and how fast confidence can disappear.

The user experience was light-years ahead—intuitive, elegant, and genuinely empowering. From Anchor to Mirror, every product was crafted with clarity and intention. It wasn’t just about DeFi; it was about usability, accessibility, and making crypto work for everyday people. In many ways, Terra set the standard for what great UX on the blockchain should look like. I don’t believe the collapse was a direct result of malicious intent from the team. Rather, it was a systemic attack—a stress test of the decentralized world that revealed how fragile even the best-executed systems can be when incentives misalign. Terra’s fall was painful, but it wasn't built on lies. It was built on an ambitious, experimental design that ultimately couldn't withstand coordinated pressure.
