Many saw that as a red flag, but it was actually a smart move protecting themselves while the SEC, under Gary Gensler’s Democratic leadership, maintained strict oversight. If you read between the lines, it was about staying compliant until the regulatory environment improved. They even allowed the community to vote on when tokens could become tradable. That vote has now passed and WLFI is on its way to open trading. I’m especially optimistic about their T-bill backed stablecoin, USD1. It’s rare for a DeFi project to combine political connections, strategic timing, and real-world asset backing so effectively. WLFI isn’t just another crypto project it’s a movement with strong long term potential. If you missed the presale, it might be worth watching closely… this could be one of those I wish I’d gotten in earlier stories.

“just another $TRUMP”WLFI is straight-up another liquidity trap dressed in political hype, just like $TRUMP. The biggest problem is the total lack of transparency. The Trump family takes the lion’s share of revenue, insiders control everything, and governance feels like pure theater. They heavily borrow Trump’s name to attract massive retail hype, but the moment drama appears, the family and insiders quietly cash out or move tokens while locking everyone else. Same playbook as $TRUMP: massive narrative, weak fundamentals, and retail left holding the bag. Not financial advice, but this one screams “proceed with extreme caution.” Feels more like a branded exit liquidity play than real DeFi.

“AAVE instance with big ambitions”From a tech perspective, World Liberty Financial is basically an Aave V3 instance (like not a fork, just a separate 'version' of aave protocol on Ethereum L2. The Trump family owns 60% and gets 75% of revenue while holding 22.5B WLFI tokens, so they're likely already up $400M+ from this venture. From an investor angle, presale buyers got tokens at $0.015-$0.05 and could sell around $0.22-$0.30 after launch - solid returns if they timed the exit right, though it's down at the time of the writing from the $0.47 peak. Technically competent execution but feels more like leveraging political connections for profit than genuine DeFi innovation. Like for me the regulatory advantages from Trump's presidency probably matter more than the underlying tech here.

“beware of the scam family”I don't really like WLFI as it is being positioned and fueled by the influeced of the POTUS. This project should grow organically and this simply not helps. For that reason, be careful and keep your funds safe.

“It will happen this time”I know the damage Trump and his wife are doing to crypto by issuing memetokens. But a separate page should be dedicated to the WLFI. Up until now, they've conducted everything transparently and through a vote-by-vote process. They've generally prioritized the community's needs and kept them updated with informative content. They've always responded to the community's concerns.

“Hard to trust”When I look at everything together; CZ’s legal situation, the way political influence suddenly changed the narrative around him and than the September crash, the Trump family becoming deeply involved in crypto projects like WLFI, honestly it becomes harder for me to trust these project for the long term. Maybe some of these projects will still succeed financially, nobody really knows how things evolve over time. But I prefer keeping my distance from projects and people that create too many questions around transparency, ethics, and intentions. For me, blockchain, crypto and DeFi were supposed to bring a healthier and more decentralized financial system. When politics, power games, and insider-style behavior become too dominant, it starts feeling less like innovation and more like another version of the old system we were trying to escape from.

“Well backed”I think it is very interesting project, backed by Trump, which in itself gives it enormous strength. There's a lot of hype around it, and rightly so, because it has solid support and so far is delivering on expectations. In my opinion, I think it has a very promising future and is worth following closely.
