A genuine, low-noise contributor in Web3 known for deep crypto expertise, active participation across Solana, NFTs, and airdrop farming, and consistent transparency without hype. They've been in crypto since 2022, run a Telegram channel sharing practical insights, built useful tools like an Ethos account analytics service, and are valued for being helpful, trustworthy, and supportive—particularly during the Ethos slash period—while maintaining a respectful, straightforward approach to community engagement.

“Still a controversial platform”On the one hand, it's a long-standing player in the prediction market space. Vitalik Buterin himself wrote extensively about platforms like this in his articles, wanting to allow people to vote with their own money on decisions (though he mostly wrote about DAO decisions to prevent people from mindlessly voting, he also loves betting on Polymarket and has long promoted it). Recently, Polymarket has experienced significant hype following the 2024 US presidential election, when billions of dollars were already at stake. This, of course, attracted the public and the desire of major insiders who influence such events to make a profit; bets were 50/50 for quite some time. On the other hand, in such prediction markets, as well as on PerpDex trading platforms, 90%+ of people lose money and become the very liquidity for insiders and professional players who either know everything in advance, can influence the market, or are good at analyzing and finding inefficiencies to outperform the majority. Overall, only a couple of percent of users benefit. Of course, a lack of regulation breeds slander, and it happens quite often on Polymarket. It's not like they're trying to prevent it; rather, they want to create a no-holds-barred environment where everyone takes responsibility for themselves. In any case, Polymarket has already been banned by the governments of quite a few large developed countries for unethical betting, money laundering, and lack of proper regulation, and it's unlikely to be unbanned. But on the other hand, they're simply attracting unrealistic investment from major players in traditional finance, and these people will pay for positive media coverage if necessary. There are also many questions about the airdrop or IPO warm-up campaign: what will happen, who will be rewarded, and how the market will evaluate it. It's also possible they'll soon add mandatory KYC and switch to their own blockchain and stablecoin (abandoning Polygon and USDC). I honestly use this platform for hedging or finding delta-neutral strategies, no gambling addiction, if you want to bet on something for the thrill, then only a small amount.on Polymarket · 1389· 5mo ago · neutral29
