Scroll is a zkEVM Layer 2 that severely damaged community trust through an extractive airdrop distribution, high fees, and perceived insider favoritism. Despite raising $70M+ and building initial hype, the project alienated early users by allocating minimal tokens to the community while favoring Binance stakers and team members, leaving most participants unable to recover gas fees spent. The network has since become a ghost chain with collapsing TVL and usage, widely characterized as one of the most disappointing and fraudulent launches in recent crypto history.

“Skam”It was a scam project. They forced the community to collect badges, saying they would be important during the drop. Many people, including me, spent a lot of money on this, but in the end, I was simply “not eligible”

“absolute fail”after a lot of time since TGE we can see that these project is almost dead not because they launched during a "bad market conditions", but because whole team is just unprofessional and do not want to build something that will not scam few minutes after they cashed out to the trash can

“"lower your expectations"”Their L2 works decently, but they completely scammed their community, it was a full blown scam they used the L2 zk wave to make a lot of money, I will never touch this again L2.

“scammers who used the trust of users”Their project was supposed to be a good L2 on ETHEREUM, they introduced a reward program and clearly indicated an upcoming airdrop. In the fall of 2024, they conducted an "airdrop" to their wallets (repeatedly proven through arkham). The team's wallets received almost 80% of the airdrop, after which they stopped working on the project and the community. Absolute scammers who used the trust of users

“Full SCAM”I spent a long time working on it and using their product, maintaining liquidity, minting useless NFTs... and never received a drop... I spent so much time, was an ardent fan of this product, and in the end, they turned out extremely badly and completely disappeared from the information space... I am extremely dissatisfied with them.

In just the last 15 days: - TVL increased by ~$150M - Daily transactions rose by ~86K - Scroll’s token price climbed ~30% While Scroll has a long way to go before regaining community trust, these numbers suggest activity is starting to pick up again.

“Airdrop không như kỳ vọng”Mình từng chăm chỉ làm nhiệm vụ và testnet trên Scroll với hy vọng airdrop ngon, nhưng kết quả lại khá hụt hẫng. Công sức bỏ ra nhiều, nhưng phần thưởng nhận về không tương xứng. Với mình, trải nghiệm này làm Scroll mất điểm vì không giữ được sự hào hứng của cộng đồng sau giai đoạn test.

“Underwhelming Launch & Airdrop Experience”They thought the Scroll token launch would be a win for early users but the reality was disappointing. The airdrop covered just about 5–7% of total supply, and a huge chunk of that ended up in Launchpool and whale-controlled wallets. Meanwhile, many genuine contributors got almost nothing—or nothing at all even after grinding days on Scroll Sessions. The worst part? Once the airdrop snapshot passed, user activity dropped by nearly 70%. Transaction volume cratered, showing that most participants weren’t genuinely engaged they were just farming marks, not sticking around. And unsurprisingly, the token price dropped by over 28% after launch when people cashed out their tiny allocations. It didn’t help that the marks system was confusing and lacked transparency. People had no idea why they earned so little or how rewards were actually calculated. The whole launch felt more like a missed opportunity than a reward for true early adopters far from the transparency and fairness the ecosystem deserves.
