From 44 activities · Apr 2026Starknet is a ZK-rollup with solid technology—STARK proofs, Cairo language, low fees, and account abstraction—but faces severe community backlash centered on its airdrop distribution. The snapshot criteria excluded active users who lacked ETH balance despite using the network, and dismissive team communication (notably calling community members "e-beggars") fractured trust. Post-TGE, the token price collapsed dramatically, user activity dried up, and the project is widely perceived as having prioritized insiders over genuine supporters, leaving it labeled a "ghost chain" despite its technical merit.

Received · 430Given · 0“From a promising idea to a deserted land”Starknet started off with a solid idea, tech was promising and early traction looked decent, even if it was mostly pumped up by farmers looking to extract some quick cash. Then the launch hit, communication around it was a gigantic fumble, high FDV, hostility from team towards everyone, sketchy unlock schedules and more. What should’ve been a catalyst turned into a speedrun of what you should not do. Since then, it failed to generate traction and attract developers, it is now considerate a crypto relic.

Likee · 1286· 1y ago · negative9“I used the tech and didn’t qualify”Unfortunately, the airdrop from this project was a major letdown. From the start, communication was vague and inconsistent, leading to confusion among the community. Many users who actively supported the project were excluded without explanation, while bots and sybils walked away with large allocations. The claim process itself was clunky and riddled with technical issues — slow transactions, failed claims, and an unresponsive support team only added to the frustration. To make matters worse, the token dumped almost instantly due to zero utility and no real plan for post-airdrop engagement. In short, it felt like a short-sighted marketing stunt rather than a genuine reward for early believers. A classic case of overpromising and underdelivering.

alof · 1248· 1y ago · negative9“A bad chain that shouldn’t exist at all”They completely neglected their early community members when it was time to reward them. On top of that, they have one of the most disrespectful teams I’ve seen constantly throwing shades at people on the TL, even going as far as calling some “e-beggars”. Despite all their pre-TGE hype about building the best ecosystem, their chain has been completely unusable since launch. Those who trusted them early on by buying the shit token are now insanely down on their investments. An absolute shitshow fr.

Prince Okodi · 1228· 1y ago · negative9“Starknet Promised the Future, Then Abandoned the People Who Built It”Starknet had years to get it right. It had the dev support, the tech, the momentum, and most importantly, a loyal community of users, builders, and early supporters who showed up, tested, gave feedback, and stood by the project through every Cairo version, every testnet reset, and every growing pain. But when it came time to give back, when it actually mattered, Starknet dropped the ball. Hard. Their airdrop wasn’t just underwhelming. It was one of the most tone-deaf in recent memory. Years of interaction meant nothing if your wallet didn’t have a few bucks in it on a specific snapshot date. OGs were left out. Builders got sidelined. Even active users who helped stress-test the network were ignored in favor of simplistic metrics and shallow filters. The worst part? It didn’t feel like an oversight. It felt like a choice. And that’s what stings. The community, the one that filled the forums, held the spaces, answered each other’s questions when no one else did, started leaving. Quietly. Some bitter, some just tired. Because nothing sends a stronger message than being excluded from the very system you helped build. Bottom line? Starknet had one job: reward the people who believed early. Instead, they optimized for metrics and forgot the humans. And no matter how strong the tech is, if you burn your community, you're just building on empty ground.

meimei · 1243· 1y ago · negative9“Scaling with Ambition and Growing Pains”I’ve seen folks on X praising StarkNet’s scalability, but digging deeper, there’s notable friction especially around the chaotic airdrop. Many were locked out due to the 0.005 ETH minimum, even after bridging, swapping, and farming “I had like 0.0045… $1 k down in gas just for using the shitty slow chain”. Beyond that, leadership shakeups and harsh comments like calling disappointed users “e-beggars” have hurt trust, and even a major DEX (ZKX) on StarkNet shut down quickly, reinforcing doubts about real-world adoption. On top of that, the steep learning curve of Cairo and a still-nascent ecosystem means a lot of potential users and devs are sitting on the sidelines . So while the underlying ZK rollup tech is undeniably powerful, community grievances over fairness, transparency, and real utility are still holding StarkNet back.

Marcitos✳️🏴☠️⛩️ · 1227· 1y ago · negative9“damn to starknet”Starknet’s vision of scaling Ethereum with ZK-Rollups is ambitious, but its execution has been marred by significant flaws. Slow and unreliable transactions, a poorly received airdrop, declining network activity, and centralization risks have alienated users and developers. The STRK token’s plummeting value and accusations of favoring VCs over the community further erode trust. While Starknet’s STARK technology and Cairo language hold potential, the ecosystem’s immaturity, steep learning curve, and lack of mainstream traction make it a risky choice for users and investors. Until Starknet addresses these issues—improving UX, decentralizing operations, and fostering a more inclusive ecosystem—it remains a disappointing contender in the L2 space. Potential users and investors should approach with caution and conduct thorough research, as the platform’s current state falls far short of its lofty promises.

Ashish · 1298· 1y ago · negative9“Overpromised, underdelivered — Starknet struggles with basics while chasing big visions.”Despite years of hype and funding, Starknet continues to face usability, performance, and ecosystem traction issues. DevX remains clunky, comms are often disconnected from user reality, and core promises still feel distant.
