“This project having serious alignment problem!”During testnet process required a hard-to-find invite code to join, ran a testnet with 25K users, then rewarded only 800+ people with an airdrop and proudly shared it like it was some kind of achievement. It will end up being used by only those same 800 people at most. Another disappointment for the CT community and a fresh candidate for the next ghost chain!

“Bitcoin’s Next Evolution”I recently joined Citrea’s testnet and got a closer look at the project. Honestly, it feels like one of the most exciting initiatives in the Bitcoin ecosystem. Adding an EVM-compatible layer on top of Bitcoin and using ZK-rollup technology to handle transactions off-chain is really clever. This way, fees are lower without compromising Bitcoin’s security. The cBTC token allows Bitcoin to be actively used in DeFi applications, turning it from just a store of value into a functional asset. The Citrea team also provides great developer support with comprehensive docs, tools, and community events to grow the ecosystem. Of course, like any innovation, some people are cautious about adding a new layer on Bitcoin’s simplicity. But I personally value Citrea’s effort to make Bitcoin more functional and programmable. I’m excited to see the impact it will have in the future.

“First use ZK rollup on Bitcoin blockchain”Citrea first ZK rollup for Bitcoin, designed to expand the functionality of Bitcoin through smart contracts and increase its usefulness in the DeFi sphere. So far, the best solution for BTC that I have had the chance to test and use, of course, the project is at the Testnet stage and everything can change, but I think everything will be just as smooth in Mainet.

“BTC zk rollup”Citrea is pushing the idea of a zero-knowledge rollup on Bitcoin—meaning, they want to bring smart execution and scalability enhancements above Bitcoin itself, while still relying on Bitcoin for settlement and security. Their testnet is live. They use something called Clementine as a bridge / program to allow two-way transfers trust-minimally. They’re fully EVM compatible so Ethereum devs can port projects over. Importantly, there’s currently no Citrea token—cBTC (their representation of BTC on Citrea) is used in testnet and doesn’t hold real value yet.
