Jesse Pollak is the founder and primary face of Base, an Ethereum Layer 2 built by Coinbase, credited with transforming it into one of the most active and accessible L2 ecosystems through relentless community engagement, daily promotion, and support for builders and creators. His consistent shipping, low fees, and developer-first vision have earned widespread respect, though his backing of creator coins, meme tokens, and projects like Soulja Boy's coin—some of which crashed dramatically or proved to be scams—has drawn significant criticism for recklessness and poor judgment despite apparent good intentions.

“GM Base”One of the leaders of Base. A kind of guru in the crypto world. I would have liked his creator coin to have had more upside and not to have stalled after a one-day pump, but time will tell. With Jesse, you never know. His cryptic messages hint at nothing but good things for Base in the future.Laser ⚡ · 1280· 9mo ago21

“BASE OG”Jesse is the main figure behind the huge Base ecosystem that it is today and it is so obvious that it is thanks to his hard work that I even wonder if Jesse is the real founder of Base?andoriginal.hl🪑 · 1405· 4mo ago16
“A great web3 builder”The 001 of base! Jesse is a great builder that I so much admire. His diligence, dedication and determination speaks loudly about him. Thank you for giving us base app! I really loved it therejoshuadimeji · 1284· 7mo ago16
“solid base builder with real presence”i first got to know jesse on twitter through base ecosystem and it was clear right away he’s one of those genuine builders who actually push things forward. always sharing smart takes and adding value to the community. it’s been great seeing his consistency and the energy he brings to everything he does.nafasfarokhi · 1228· 12mo ago16
“How a true builder should be”Name of the BASE is totally entangled with jesse as it's builder. He act not like arrogant builder, in of one the most useful blockchains, but like a user who can see the mistakes, bugs and get along with people in both X and DC. So precious to have him in BASEShadab · 1324· 1y ago16
“Founder of Base ecosystem”I have known Jesse as a reputable founder builder on base ecosystem that supports creator and artist on the chain, he promotes nfts and arts on the chain and also use his influence to drive up legit tokens on base. He is currently head of protocols at coinbase.MALΞIC🔮 · 1324· 1y ago16
“区块链背后的匠人”Jesse 带着 Base 从底层开了条道，像个热衷建设的幕后工匠，用代码和社区让区块链也能走进日常生活。OPensea builder · 1178· 1y ago16
“Base(d) builder”I actually don't remember, when I started to follow jesse on x. But what I do remember is, that jesse is not only based, but he IS base (sort of). Without him, there wouldn't be base (and most importantly for me: without base there wouldn't be rodeo). His insights into the base ecosystem, and what they're building is always vauable to me and I'm looking forward to, what the future holds.Phazquiat · 1292· 1y ago16
“Turning Ideas into Real Web3 Solutions”Lately, I’ve been following Jesse—he’s the person behind Base (built at Coinbase), and now he’s also leading Coinbase Wallet. What really stands out is that he’s not here for hype or chasing tokens, but genuinely focused on building things that actually help people. You can tell he’s playing the long game, pushing for onchain adoption by supporting developers and creators. His work is solid and clearly well thought out.abi · 1282· 1y ago16
“Relentlessly pushing the Web3 space”An individual with great vision about web3 and at the same time having the "degen" mentality as well. Sent From Farcaster 🟣0xa6B7...E20B · 1196· 1y ago16
“Trusted Architect of Onchain Growth”High respect for jesse.base.eth – Jesse is driving Base to massive scalability and usability. His focus on creators/devs over mere trading sets strong community values, and technical upgrades like Pectra & EIP-7702 show real progress. Trusted leader steering onchain adoptionBroly_222 · 1193· 1y ago16
