Jesse Pollak is the founder and primary face of Base, an Ethereum Layer 2 built by Coinbase, credited with transforming it into one of the most active and accessible L2 ecosystems through relentless community engagement, daily promotion, and support for builders and creators. His consistent shipping, low fees, and developer-first vision have earned widespread respect, though his backing of creator coins, meme tokens, and projects like Soulja Boy's coin—some of which crashed dramatically or proved to be scams—has drawn significant criticism for recklessness and poor judgment despite apparent good intentions.

“I respect the work”I respect the work Jesse has done with Base and I think he's had a positive impact on the ecosystem. At the same time, I didn't agree with some of the recent pushes around creator coins and content coins. It felt like the community had already moved on, but the messaging stayed the same. I still think he's a solid builder overall, even if I don't agree with every direction he's taken.

“Base Chief”I know Jesse from early days where we had to mint early nfts on base, since that mint day I've been actively involved in base community by helping users in discord and making apps on base accessible on farcaster.

“Jesse, the Visionary Powering Base”Jesse isn’t just active on Base , he’s genuinely present for the community. I’ve seen how he takes the initiative to support projects and even the smallest memecoins, making builders feel they’re part of something bigger. His drive has helped Base grow into one of the most vibrant and widely used L2s, now attracting respected KOLs and countless creators. It’s rare to see a founder this hands on and committed.

“Builder Voice You Can Trust”Jesse Pollak comes off as more than just an influencer. He talks about things like creator coins, where Web3 content meets economics, or pushing people to build AI agents themselves, not just ride trends. There is a sense he actually cares about the long game, not just likes or retweets. Some statements feel ambitious, maybe even risky, but they also make you think about what crypto can actually become. If you follow crypto for insight more than hype, Pollak’s feed is worth your attention.

“The OG of an OG Chain”Jesse has been a steady builder on Base, consistently delivering value and proving why this chain is shaping the future. His work reflects both vision and reliability -I’m genuinely proud to witness his contribution to the ecosystem and confident he’ll keep driving impact in the years ahead.

“base is everything”Been following Jesse for a while and honestly he’s become the face of Base for me. His X is where I catch most of the updates, and it’s wild how much one person can carry the narrative of a whole chain. I like that he actually dives into CT, talks with people, and doesn’t sit in some ivory tower
