From 253 activities · Apr 2026Jesse Pollak is the founder and primary face of Base, an Ethereum Layer 2 built by Coinbase, credited with transforming it into one of the most active and accessible L2 ecosystems through relentless community engagement, daily promotion, and support for builders and creators. His consistent shipping, low fees, and developer-first vision have earned widespread respect, though his backing of creator coins, meme tokens, and projects like Soulja Boy's coin—some of which crashed dramatically or proved to be scams—has drawn significant criticism for recklessness and poor judgment despite apparent good intentions.

The network I’ve been using the most for about a year is Base. I use many of the “social” dapps built on the network every day, constantly make transactions, and have my liquidity pools generating attractive APRs. Lately, I’ve also traded some promising NFTs and am waiting to see if the long-awaited airdrop ever arrives. Thanks, Jess, for Base!!

Jesse has been an innovative and active leader who is passionately involved with the core community of Base network. He is a force at Zora network too. Actually he's fond of Zora. I think Coinbase will succeed further with him. Tbh, I check his tweets everyday, because he always has sth to share.

He is the creator of base, he leads big projects at Coinbase, and spends a lot of his time figuring out how to make blockchain simpler, more open, and way easier for regular people to use. He’s all about helping creators and builders actually build, and his posts on X make it clear he’s in this for the long haul. Jesse’s got a track record of getting big things done at Coinbase, and he’s playing a huge role in making crypto something everyone can use, not just the tech crowd.

Mike · 1277· 1y ago15“Builder Number 1”Jesse has made it his mission to bring as many people onchain as possible, and he is proving it day after day. As a core member in the base ecosystem and web3 as a whole, Jesse is always sharing what’s new, helpful, and the way he thinks it can shape the future. When it comes to other creators, Jesse uses his brand as a way to show support and always helps to boost the people building in the base community. Most based dude in the space.
