Jesse Pollak is the founder and primary face of Base, an Ethereum Layer 2 built by Coinbase, credited with transforming it into one of the most active and accessible L2 ecosystems through relentless community engagement, daily promotion, and support for builders and creators. His consistent shipping, low fees, and developer-first vision have earned widespread respect, though his backing of creator coins, meme tokens, and projects like Soulja Boy's coin—some of which crashed dramatically or proved to be scams—has drawn significant criticism for recklessness and poor judgment despite apparent good intentions.

“Network Token Announcement is Bullish”The much-awaited $BASE token is finally here. I like how Jesse announced without any previous hint. This will probably prevent farmers looking for an Airdrop opportunity as they are already sidelined imo.Äråbmoney · 1180· 1y ago9

“String Builder”Every serious blockchain needs builders, creators who support the ecosystem and implement security and usability updates for its users. Jesse takes care of that at Base, sharing his thoughts in his posts, sometimes more accurate, sometimes less so, but seemingly with good intentions for the community.Bitcoin Existencial · 1221· 1y ago9
