Jesse Pollak is the founder and primary face of Base, an Ethereum Layer 2 built by Coinbase, credited with transforming it into one of the most active and accessible L2 ecosystems through relentless community engagement, daily promotion, and support for builders and creators. His consistent shipping, low fees, and developer-first vision have earned widespread respect, though his backing of creator coins, meme tokens, and projects like Soulja Boy's coin—some of which crashed dramatically or proved to be scams—has drawn significant criticism for recklessness and poor judgment despite apparent good intentions.

“launch meme”issuing tokens under a personal name and reaping huge profits without any token buyback and the tokens have no real function—they’re just memes solely for personal gainSibentoxyz · 1536· 4mo ago · negative13
“Jesse.base.eth”Jesse didn’t just launch another chain. You reimagined what a developer-first ecosystem could look like. While others built more layers, you built accessibility, clarity, and real utility without sacrificing decentralization. Base isn’t a trend. It’s a movement toward safer, scalable, and inclusive Web3 for builders everywhere.Zabeth(😈⚘️❤️‍🔥) · 1259· 8mo ago13

“Base builder #001”As far as I know, Jesse is the number 1 builder in the base, every breakthrough he makes always goes viral, in fact, he was the one who made the Zora chain popular, because people followed him.ngab_bend⚡🧙‍♂️ · 1307· 1y ago13
“Base best KOL”If you don't know Jesse Pollack, you must study or retire from web3 . He is superbullish on Base. What he post on X you can found on Farcaster too. He is also funny on his post, personally I like his way at look the world. Ah... I try to stalk him on twitter Hey Jesse --- I quitjoetir.eth · 1310· 1y ago12
“"Technical leaders in Head of Protocols / Creator of Base roles"”His primary responsibilities include providing updates on Coinbase technology, progress on the Base blockchain, and community engagement. He also shares important issues in his personal life (getting married, participating in events) to keep his human side active alongside the technical community.호밍빵 · 1291· 1y ago12

“Confused Soul..”Jesse's long term vision went from "bring everything onchain" to "tokenize everything onchain". this comes after a "Base is for everyone" which was launched on Zora and tweeted by Base official acc, which lead to crowd rallying behind the token only to get dumped on by the creator....Instead of providing an explanation FIRST and then launching the token, Jesse and team decided to Launch first, RUG it, and then explain with reasoning and then go on to vouch for it even more aggressively.....this makes me feel like he's lost and confused as to what his goals are towards base and the builders on the chain.a1t🎴 · 1270· 1y ago20

“Respect but verify”Jesse's contributions to Base are clear and that's why I signed up. I closely follow the projects he highlights. Of course, several promoted ideas aroused interest, but unfortunately did not create a long-term perspective. Personally, I think that this is not a reason to devalue his work, because such recommendations should be treated very carefully. Still, I like people who remain open and involved.Ksyu🪼 · 1424· 4mo ago10
