Jesse Pollak is the founder and primary face of Base, an Ethereum Layer 2 built by Coinbase, credited with transforming it into one of the most active and accessible L2 ecosystems through relentless community engagement, daily promotion, and support for builders and creators. His consistent shipping, low fees, and developer-first vision have earned widespread respect, though his backing of creator coins, meme tokens, and projects like Soulja Boy's coin—some of which crashed dramatically or proved to be scams—has drawn significant criticism for recklessness and poor judgment despite apparent good intentions.

“Builder of the Ownership Economy”Jesse has been behind some of the most impactful moves in crypto. He pushes for ideas that give users real ownership and control, and his track record shows he’s more about building long term value than chasing hype. Even though people like to dunk on him these last few months with like the campaign he started tokenize everything, he is still one of the few people who seems to genuinely get where Web3 should be headed.

“The Builder”Jesse doesn’t wait for permission or applause. He just moves. While others are stuck in loops debating what crypto should be, he’s out here making it usable. You won’t see long threads or overhyped announcements, but somehow the impact always lands. Base didn’t show up with fireworks. It showed up with purpose. It feels like something made by someone who actually wants people to use crypto, not just talk about it in Discord. Jesse builds like someone who understands both the tech and the humans behind the screen. He keeps it simple, keeps it public, and keeps it moving. And that’s why people are starting to pay closer attention — not because he’s trying to be loud, but because he never needed to be.

“Base Main Chad”Without any doubt, he has done a great work shaping Base and its ecosystem, through the good and bad times. He has always been very vocal and supportive of web3 and the possibilities of blockchain technologies, and has been supporting all creators and builders on Base. We may not agree with his take on Zora and the unjustified hype for it but, nonetheless, he always tried to keep pushing the boundaries of what it is possible and what we should use blockchain for.

“Maybe the biggest drone in history will be Base!”Even though they deny it, this scenario always has a happy ending for the users. Let's see if Base can write a new story.

“BASED BUILDER”Jesse gets it. In a space full of noise and clout-chasing, he’s one of the few genuinely focused on building tools that give power back to users. From his work on Base to the mission and vision behind the BASE APP, it’s clear he cares about long-term impact, not just hype. What stands out most is his openness with the community. Always listening, always improving. Whether you’re a dev, a degen, a creator, a crypto advocate, or just curious about crypto, Jesse makes you feel like your voice matters. Can’t say that about many people leading in Web3.

“Clear thinker, honest communicator, strong onchain intuition.”Jesse brings a rare mix of clarity, honesty, and conviction. His onchain insights are sharp, and he doesn’t get lost in hype — instead, he focuses on what truly adds value. Grateful to have learned from his perspective.

“N01 BASE BUILDER”

“Shipped more than he talked”Two years ago Base was nothing. Now it's the most active L2 in crypto. Jesse built that by actually showing up — replying to devs, engaging with the community, shipping consistently without the drama that follows most founders. The decision to move away from OP stack shows real long-term thinking. One of the few people in this space where the output consistently matches the ambition.
