From 253 activities · Apr 2026Jesse Pollak is the founder and primary face of Base, an Ethereum Layer 2 built by Coinbase, credited with transforming it into one of the most active and accessible L2 ecosystems through relentless community engagement, daily promotion, and support for builders and creators. His consistent shipping, low fees, and developer-first vision have earned widespread respect, though his backing of creator coins, meme tokens, and projects like Soulja Boy's coin—some of which crashed dramatically or proved to be scams—has drawn significant criticism for recklessness and poor judgment despite apparent good intentions.

He’s not the type to chase hype, his focus is on building, learning, and contributing in ways that actually matter. What stands out most is his ability to see through the noise and articulate things in a way that feels both clear and deeply human. In a space full of surface-level chatter, Jesse brings depth and perspective that makes people stop and listen.

Builders get genuine support from him, and it’s clear he cares about seeing projects succeed. He leads by doing, not just talking, which is rare and powerful. Base has grown this far because of his push, vision, and constant effort.

Degen Kid · 1369· 1y ago10“The face of Base”Base is great, as the face of Base he often gets things right and sometimes wrong but gets slashed really hard for it. He constantly builds and ships, done a great job promoting it and attracting long lasting liquidity and builders to the chain. I am looking forward to seeing where Base lands after the base app throughout the end of the year.
