From 253 activities · Apr 2026Jesse Pollak is the founder and primary face of Base, an Ethereum Layer 2 built by Coinbase, credited with transforming it into one of the most active and accessible L2 ecosystems through relentless community engagement, daily promotion, and support for builders and creators. His consistent shipping, low fees, and developer-first vision have earned widespread respect, though his backing of creator coins, meme tokens, and projects like Soulja Boy's coin—some of which crashed dramatically or proved to be scams—has drawn significant criticism for recklessness and poor judgment despite apparent good intentions.

and 9 more“Top man. Web3 degenerate with experience””A decent person with a large crypto community with a focus on NFT, SocialFi and DEX. Strong competencies in these areas. Recently had a call, almost 2 hours chatting on Kaito and DEX such as Paradex, Lighter, Backpack. Ren showed interesting tricks that are used to farm points in these projects, which few people know. But the most important thing is that he himself does what he talks about. He showed me in real time statistics in these projects, high in leaderboards is in the leaderboards. I appreciate people who not only talk, but also do! Ren is one of those people! At the same time, he is well-mannered and doesn't allow himself too much, as many young people interested in crypto do. Way to go man!

deoflae · 1294· 1y ago9““Face of Base””Jesse built more than infra he built energy around Base. Strong vision, open vibe, easy to follow and easy to trust. Rare mix of builder focus and community drive you don’t see often in this space. What makes Jesse stand out is not only his ability to deliver on the technical side but also his consistency in bringing people along for the journey. He has a way of explaining direction and vision that makes even non-technical users feel part of the movement. In less than a year Base grew to billions and became one of the fastest growing ecosystems, proof that the vision is not just talk but reality. While many chase hype Jesse stays focused on building durable infra and culture that will carry Ethereum forward. That combination of execution, clarity, and community connection makes him one of the most trusted and respected builders in crypto today. The launch itself was messy, with poor communication and little transparency, and instead of addressing community concerns Jesse stayed silent and kept reposting. It left the impression that the community was left hanging while insiders benefited. If Jesse had stepped up and acknowledged the issues, my review would be positive. But given how this played out, I can only leave a neutral one.

He’s been instrumental in bringing new builders into the Base ecosystem, not by force or hype, but by creating genuine momentum. You can tell he cares. He shows up, shares knowledge, connects people, and pushes the space forward without needing the spotlight. The kind of presence that makes an ecosystem feel alive.
